      Lightbulb

I've been browsing this site among others for a few weeks now and I decided it was time I start posting. I'm extremely interested in Lucid Dreaming and would like to hone my skills to be able to do it on command.

I've had 2 lucid dreams so far. In both, I subconsciously realized a reality check had failed. It's been awhile since I've had them and I've been trying pretty hard to have more with no luck. I've been reading alot about the WILD method but have had no success with it, yet. Each time I've tried I get to the point where my arms and legs have gotten pretty numb and my breathing has become very rythmic and slow, but I haven't been able to produce the hypnagogic imagery. The only thing that has happened is I've had a few flashes of color and have felt like I was being pulled out of my body, but then I become super conscious.

I usually try for a good hour at least and then get fed up and just go to sleep. Any advice would be appreciated. I'll be around for awhile, so a big Hello to everyone.

Hey, launchpad. I'm a beginner myself so I'm not sure how useful this advice is; but I would suggest maybe trying to relax more? Over the last week I have had atleast 5[/7] dreams that I can vividly remember - each with certain parts that had very high lucidity levels.. - I've done my research of this subject, and the way I'm approaching things is to just go with the flow and not rack my brain when I'm in bed telling myself to remember my dreams/that I'm dreaming- it just causes me a bad headache! I have no sleeping routine, and most nights I've had the greatest dreams I've consumed loads of alchohol the night before.. although, this could just be a co-incidence!
But I guess everyone is different.

I liked your Wayne's World reference, btw.

Hey Pad, congrats on your two lucids

I've been trying pretty hard to have more with no luck.[/b]
There's one of your biggest problems right there. Any stress or anxiety you feel in waking life will hinder your ability to lucid dream. Maybe you should try taking a week or so off from trying alltogether. You know you're capable of lucid dreaming, so no need to stress. You just might end up having a lucid during this little vacation. But DON'T try to. Let it happen.

Yeah, I'm with Tornado Joe here, you can relax with the wilds, they're probably not going to help you anyway. Its one of the options that are most attractive to beginners, but one of the hardest to actually pull off./ I suggest just stay with WBTB and MILD for now and keep practicing and writing down your dreams...
