Hello, all.

I've was browsing through some of the topics in this forum yesterday, with not a lot of thought about actually joining, but you all were so sweet and helpful to each other that I decided to, which is why you are reading this =)

My nickname is Vixie, I'm sixteen years old, shy, but inordinately fond of singing (I've taken voice lessons from childhood.) I was homeschooled for a few years because my parents didn't want school to "corrupt" me (oh, parents&#33. But this year I'm back in high school.

I started lucid dreaming (without knowing that it was called that) when I was very young. I actually thought that something was wrong with me because no one else I knew had done it before. When I was five years old, I asked my Sunday School teacher at church whether we were responsible for what we did in our dreams. She laughed, "Of course not! You can't control what you do in your dreams!" and I replied, "Actually, I can."

Often I've had lucid dreams, but never took advantage of it. In my waking hours, I'm afraid of heights, snakes, deep waters, driving, skiing, diving, large crowds and big animals. But maybe in my dreams I'll learn to face these. At any rate, I have very little control over my lucid dreams, and I'm eager to learn =)

Hi, welcome to DV!
Your sunday school teacher obviously never paid attention to her dreams.
Lucid dreams are a great place to face your fears. My biggest fear is drowning, i usually get a drowning dream once every six months...the last one i had, i managed to kick to the surface.
Good luck with the dreaming, and don't forget to keep a dream journal!

Welcome to Dreamviews.

Lucky lucky to be able to have lucid dreams with no training. That means dream control and lucidity are just a small step away, so keep browsing the forum and try and apply some techniques. Also, try lucidity enhancing techniques, such as Dream Spinning or rubbing your hands together.
