hi. im new here, i just started a thread in beyond dreaming. i'd like to know what you think there as well as here.

I have been into lucid dreams, meditation, astral projection on and off for a few years now. Just recently had an astral or lucid experience that was quite frightening to me. I have had some trouble trying to leave my body before. This time I had to actually painfully tear up and out of my unconscious body. The sound was like a roaring wind or jet stream of water across my ears, and it felt life-threateningly dangerous.. With a dark, strange feeling around I explored my house a bit, which was completely different. It was pretty hellish, some of the walls were transparent. It was all very dark and lots of wild nature screams like that of monkeys and howling winds. through the transparent walls of my home were violent glowing swirling 'souls' flying around in space. Alot of horrific stuff happenned until i slipped into a deeper unaware dream and lost the vivid control.
      I liked it.

Hi there, R Glad to have you aboard. Sounds like a pretty weird experience - good job posting it in Beyond Dreaming. I don't have any experience with that kind of stuff, though, so I'm afraid I can't give you any feedback about it.

but if you have any questions about LDing, please feel free to ask! Good luck and have fun.

      That's my favourite part

So are you sure this was AP?
Or could it have been a LD ?
<div align="center">"Could we but mould our dreams at will,
And keep them free from harm or ill,
      How pleasant it would be,
To deem our waking hours but dreams,
And that, our life which now but seems
      A baseless fantasy."

hi Hippie, I&#39;m fairly sure it was an AP that time. I have had a few of them before, but what&#39;s the definition between the two? The way I tell it&#39;s an Astral is by being able to see myself and everything around extremely clearly. The textures of everything are very detailed and there&#39;s a strange lighting to everything, and it feels like seeing through closed eyes. almost hyper-real. Lucid&#39;s i usually put down to when i am already inside of a dream and realize it, then can steer it a bit but it&#39;s all still very hazy, and normally wasn&#39;t intent on having one before it happens.

It still sounds like a lucid dream, except rather than one where you realize it during the dream, this one was probably a WILD. I&#39;ve had similar experiences with WILDs and even had that "seeing through closed eyes" feeling, except mine weren&#39;t as hellish, heh. If you have another one of these, and its just as hellish or close, see if anything happens if you focus on the center of your forehead(where the third eye is), you might feel an interesting pressure.
the mind is everything, what you think, you become...

ok i&#39;ll try the third eye thing next time it happens and i remember to do it. Is there any real purpose to that?
but yeah anyway, it was definately alot more vivd and more real than real kind of wild or astral experience, to the point of me waking up shaking and sweating.

I haven&#39;t looked into the other threads much yet so i dont know much about them except from my own direct experinces.

      Hello <>R<>, welcome to dreamviews.

      You seem to have some experience in this field, so I encourage you to start looking into WILDs, since it seems what you are most familiar with. Maybe this will help you learn more about them and control them, since your dream seemed pretty nightmarish... but even if you enjoyed it, you can always make it better&#33;

In any case, sorry but I&#39;m not a fan of this astral or spiritual interpretation, so I can&#39;t vouch much for the third eye idea.

      I am from South Africa
