      Started my Dream Journal Today

I managed to have extremely vivid dream recollection on one of the dreams and almost forgot to write it down when I woke up. I did find it easier to write it in reverse order and as I began with each reverse idea I typed out the previous event came very quickly. I've always been able to remember at least one dream each night so hopefully shortly I will be able to remember more and will begin to notice trends. Any suggestions anyone has would be appreciated. Also if there is anyone with ideas for how to regulate sleep, ie: I have mild insomnia, it takes a lot for me to wind down, I usually only get four to five hours of sleep a night. If anyone can give any suggestions other than exercise, regulating caffeing/nicotein use, etc., for how I might be able to wind down a bit more easily that would be great. I've tried meditation but that seems like a realm I'm not ready to venture in to quite yet, I'm looking to quiet my waking mind first which has proven tough for me.

      Welcome to Dream Views!

Well REM cycles in about 90 minute periods...and usually starts 4 and a half hours into sleep...so if you can wake up after 4 and a half hours, then try to sleep for another 90, perhaps this would work.

      Welcome to the forums!

You could try BWGEN. It uses soundwaves to put you to sleep. Seeker (I think) started a long topic about this a while ago. Search for BWGEN in the forums and you should find it.
