      Cool

Hey all! I first heard about lucid dreaming about a month and a half ago. Since then, I have made a dream journal. The first night I recalled 5 dreams! I was very excited! That was around the end of June. After that I was remembering amazing dreams! I drew pictures of the things I saw, and wrote in great detail about them. And now if I read my descriptions I can still remember them as good as I did when I had first dreamt them. However, for awhile- around June 18th til the present, I haven't been able to recall many dreams. If I'm lucky, I can only recall one a night. It's quite disappointing, and I'm rather sad about it. Could it be from lack of sleep? That's what I'm thinking, anyways. I'm not too sure. I've done LOTS of reading up on lucid dreaming, hours and hours. But I can't seem to find any tips on how to re-develop good dream recall. I used to be SO good at it! And then went away for a week, so I couldn't keep my dream journal there- and now I'm back to where I started, and even worse off because sometimes I wake up not even remembering dreams. Please help me! And I'm sorry if these are stupid questions.

As for lucid dreams- in the past month and a half I have had 2 or 3. Maybe more, but I just simply can't remember them

One- I was looking at myself. Then I realized I was dreaming, got excited, and woke up
And the other one- We were cliff jumping and the cliff was really quite high and all you could see in the water were jagged rocks coming up out of it. I realized that since we didn't die, that I must be dreaming! I tried to fly, by jumping up into the air. I jumped a few feet in the air a couple of times. But it just didn't work! I read lots of the posts in these forums today. And I now know the technique of how to get into the air. However, after jumping and trying to fly, I moved into another dream. This other dream this mouse was chasing me at a friends' house and kept trying to attack me. I think I killed it and then felt bad and brought it back to life. Then something happened and I totally forgot I was dreaming and then I was unable to control my actions anymore and cannot remember the rest of that dream.

There was another person named Courtney but she changed it to Courtney Mae. They lose. You win.

I'm going to actually answer your question though, unlike DOOMED and nameful

Dream Control... you gotta kinda "expect" it to happen, instead of just go "gee I hope this wurks lol".

It usually comes pretty naturally for me, but when you break it down into little pieces, expectation is the key.

I'd love to see some of your drawings - if you can, you should post them in the Draw Your Dreams thread.

I'm not sure if you've already read this tutorial, but it's the Dream Recall tutorial. You may find some tips you can use from it.

Also, I'm not sure if you use any specific technique for helping along your recall, but here's something you may want to try:
As soon as you wake up, don't open your eyes or move. Stay in the same position. Concentrate on what you were just dreaming about. Think about the feeling you had in the dream, and any details you can remember. Work your way backward if you can, for example - I jumped off a cliff - and before that, I walked to the cliff and saw a bear, and before that... and so on. Run through all the details you can remember in your mind, really concentrating on keywords or sentences to help you remember the gist of the dream. Then grab your dream journal and record anything and everything you can possibly remember, even if it's only snippets.

Don't sound so disappointed! I know a TON of members that would dream-kill for 2 or 3 LDs per month. You're being too hard on yourself. Just go with the flow and don't get discouraged. Just have fun!

2-3 in the past month, and you're being down?
8 months with nothing at all. Beat that.

Thank you for the welcome! Oh really? If I would have known I would have made something more original! Okay, thank you for the tips! I'll keep them in mind

Okay, well I'm not really sure you'd like to see them. All of them were just drawn in pen really quickly during the middle of the night. I didn't put much detail into them because I was so tired. I'll redraw them and then upload them onto the computer

And thank you for all those tips! The past two nights I've been remembering dreams like crazy! After posting on this and reading everything again! It's great! Thank you for all your help, I'm back to being able to remember again! I think what it was was that I wasn't trying hard enough. Now before I go to bed I think "I'm going to remember my dreams!" and when I wake up, my first thought is, "So What did I dream last night?" And everythign just comes bacl

Oh really? Okay wlel that's good! Thanks! I thoguht people had them everynight lol. Mine aren't good. I got excited and woke up in one, and the other I didn't do anything tootoo exciting. I knew I was dreaming, but I just wasn't sure that I could do much about it, it was so weird

      Oh really?
      That's really too bad
Umm try thinking before you go to sleep
"I'm going to have a lucid dream tonight!!"
That's what I did anyways, and that's when I had my first one.
And then my friend had had one and he told me one day all about his, and that's all I thought about before I went to sleep, and somehow it gave me another one!
If you think a lot, and tlak a lot about lucid dreams, maybe they'll come!
My friend said that before his lucid dream, him and all of his friends were talking about it and then he fell asleep and had it.
So I don't know, maybe it'll work for you?
