      I had anouther set of lucid dreams last night and they are lasting much longer than they first did because im rememebering to remain calm. I figured out flying last night right after i stood at the end of a dock and made watter funnles shoot up to thesky. At first when i tried to fly i went fairly high then i plumited into the water, but then i tried again right from the water and wentr up, felt like i was going to fall again and tried to jump in mid air which worked wonders. From there on i was in control of my movements while airbourne. Also i met my first easily spottable DC. Hes a man that resembles an old freind of mine pushing a cart full of strangly colored flowers and baloons. He passed in front of my house when i first became lucid. I cant wait for my next. I should get plenty of sleep tonight, im off to work a double.

      Congradulations dude! I love hearing about people's lucid adventures beginning and improving, it brings me back which gives me renewed energy every time. If you can manage it (takes a high awareness) maybe you could ask your Dream Character what his name is and why he is in your dreams... these types of exploration more often than not reap very interesting results.

      Dear Nocturnal,

      What is your plan?

      Sit down and think to yourself what you expect from Lucid Dreaming, long term and short term. And then start putting together a Lucid Dream Checklist.

      Some aspects of a Lucid Dreaming Checklist should carry over from List to List even as one progresses, remembering that it is always important to stabilize a Lucid Dream.

      I had been going with S F L A which means STOP FOCUS LOTUS AUM


      STOP One must consciously halt the action that was involved in the Ordinary Dreaming, at least long enough to evaluate the Situation and one&#39;s conscious choices.

      FOCUS To intensify one&#39;s awareness and create the foundations for a prolonged Lucid Dream one must begin the practices that guarantee these ends. I look at my hands and begin deep and rapid breathing.

      LOTUS Typically I Fly out of my ordinary Dream Scenes and my Dream Higher Mind has been working my Lucid Dreams so that I lose altitude and land into what have been importnat and vivid Lucid Dream Scenes. Long ago I have learned that the Yogic Lotus crosslegged sitting position is the BEST POSITION from which to fly and levitate from. One can fly higher, farther, faster better from that crosslegged position, so reminiscent of the Sufi Dervishes who used to sit on their Flying Carpets in such a way.

      AUM One will find that certain Meditations, Prayers and Mantras have a great deal more power, apparently, in Dreams than they do while awake. The most powerful and the easiest Mantra for summoning Spirituality and the Higher Powers is simply AUM. Intoning a deep and long AUM offers another means of powering up before Flying off.


      After those constant elements of every Lucid Dreaming Checklist, then one can more to any particular items that one had been ambitious to work on.

      Thank you for all the help. This site is great. Good people. My reasons for LD is not only does it help escape from every day limitations but also i have has bad insomnia in my past and any way to make sleep more enjoyable helps me from falling back into that hole.

      What an awesome practice. I once read a book called, "Lucid Dreaming: The Dawning of the Clear Light" which suggested meditating in a Lucid Dream and drawing a Divine light to yourself but I have never quite managed it, I tent to get caught up with the extremely liberating effect of flying. This method you describe though actually incorporates flying while still working toward the more spiritual ends I would seek.

      Thanks Leo, I&#39;ll be incorporating this technique (protocol) into my Dream Yoga.
