Hi
I have had 4 LD's to date now... im still a newbie.....but each time is getting better as far as my control....my question to everyone is ....when I go Lucid its like I just pop into it from deep sleep.....I cant remember that I was even dreaming just before I go Lucid?... and there is realy no story line that my Lucid dream follows.... I do remember that I have dreamed that next morning when I awake though ...its like I just randomly pop into this vivid dream world and I imediately do a reality check like looking at my hands to see that im awake and have some control....I even flew once then woke up from the excitement........most of what I have read here states that they were dreaming then went Lucid from the dream they were having at the time...anyone else here do this where you just all of a sudden go Lucid?...but not from within any dream that you can remember?

Hey I think you may just get very excited about Lucid Dreaming that you don't even allow yourself to soak in the dream around you before begin. It could also just be a recall problem, as in you just forget everything in your dream that just happened becuase you want to be Lucid. So nothing elce matters to your mind. next time you are lucid, just keep asking yourself what happened before this part of your dream. It is also possible that you get lucid at the begining of a new dream... In that case, there would be no story to start with.

Hi and welcome to DV

Its good to see that you have a good experience with LD's and seem to know what you are doing. Have you checked the tutorials section yet?

I do remeber that I have dreamed that next morning when I awake though [/b]
Do you mean a false awakening (FA)? That usualy happens after LD's, I should know I have missed many chances of going lucid that way .

Anyway see you around

Hallo Biggen!

I'm really a noob at lucid dreaming too! (I've only had three&#33 My third lucid dream occured almost exactly like you describe, with realization that it's a LD right away, and in the morning. Many people seem to attain lucidity in different ways, so nobody shares the experience exactly, I suppose.

Since it sounds so similar to my experience, I'd like to know more about how you get LDs. I've only ever attained LDs in the morning after waking, although it sounds like you LD at night as well. Two of my LDs were lucky and short, but my third I realized it was a dream right away. It's like you say; I kinda just "drifted" to sleep in the morning and found myself in a dream, though I knew I was still in my bedroom. It was immediate, and I felt there was no dream before it.

I think you are correct about how the excitement of going Lucid clouds my memory of what i was dreaming about just before......so next time Im Lucid I'm going to try to just soak it all in and not try to do so much and see if that helps......I have only been doing this for a month now and have already had 4 LD's.....whats weird is why am I having Lucid dreams now? I havent had any that I can remember in my younger years like in my 20's or 30's.....nor did I ever practice on how to go Lucid ....its like i just spontaneously had one about 4 weeks ago...then I started reading this forum......thanks for all the info

Thanks for the reply.......for me going Lucid ..I have not found any set pattern on how I attain it.....I do know that it is after I have been asleep for at least 4-5 hours and mabey wake up briefly then go back to sleep....its after that time when I have LD's......I have had 1 False awakening where I was Lucid then I felt as if I was waking up...then I felt like I was was awake laying in my own bed I then looked around my room and it looked like my room but things were out of place ...like items had been moved around?...i then said to myself hell im still asleep!!! it was a false awakening LD....hahha
