I heard about Lucid dreams 3 days ago. Usualy I never bother remembering dreams, but each of the last three nights I have gone to sleep repeating a determined mantra "I will lucid dream and remember the dream." Whilst I haven't ld'd yet, I have remembered 4-5 dreams each morning, which is pretty astronomical for a "non-dreamer like me." Obviously, it takes longer than 3 days to learn how to ld, but my dream recall seems to be pretty excelent, so what is the next step i should take. i have googled the topic and found a thousand different theories, guides etc but what i would like is some feedback from people who have only begun LDign recently, with an explanation of what steps they to to successful lding. Interestingly, last night the last of 4 dreams that I remember involved me talking to my friend about how I had to go home now to ld. SO though I havent had an LD yet, my subconcious is obviously aware of my want to do so, as my dream self tried to as well - anyone else had a dream like this?

      Thanks, Xavier

PS steps i have taken to far include regular rcs and a dream journal.

You seem to have the mantra stuff down, so next I would try saying, "I will wake up after each dream period and remember my dream."

Eventually, it will work. I did it for a few days, and for about a week, I woke up at 4:00 and remembered my dream.

Once you've got waking up via NOT ALARM CLOCK, try dream re-entry. I think that there are some tutorials on it in the tutorial section, but I'll give you one. Even though I'm still working on this technique. It's supposed to be the most effective, which I believe.

      Dream Re-Entry

      1. Wake up in the night via NOT ALARM CLOCK. (alarm clocks destroy everything for multiple reasons) Don't move!

      2. It works best if while you are waking up you slowly fade out of your dream, but as long as you remember it, it will probably work. Remember the dream in your head. Make your self aware that you are in your bed.

      3. Visualize the dream you were in as best you can in your head. Focus on it and imagine that you are in it. Eventually you might feel some vibrations, and you will have no problem focusing on the dream.

      4. "Jump" into the dream! (enter the dream) Don't move much at first, look around. Do the whole 'fucus on your hand' thing, if you know what that is. (Basically, observe your surroundings and try to take in as many details as you can)

      Keep trying!
I will some day legally change my name to:

"Simquatti Charles Moses Solomon Gunther Schmupak, Magical Ninja Reverend LXXIV"

      Lucid Count: 7
