      Hey guys,

My name's Matt. Ive been glancing at this sight from time to time. Just a week ago I saw the movie Waking Life. Im sure Im in the right place if I enjoyed that movie, but more over it was a total shock to watch it and listen to it say the same things I've read on this site. It really got me back into the idea of lucid dreaming.

If your interested, the reason why I've been looking into lucid dreaming is that when I was about 15, I had a dream that turned out to be the best comic story I ever had. The one idea from that dream spawned into a huge epic universe. About 1 year later I had my first lucid dream, that lasted only a few seconds, but it was so exciting because I used that opportunity to be my comic hero. If I could do that everynight... I'd be able to keep my inspiration for my comics, I think.

Anyway, HELLO EVERYBODY! Can't wait to get to know everyone!

Hi, welcome to DV! You are definitely in the right place after seeing Waking life. I myself have never seen the film, but i've heard a lot about it. Vanilla Sky got me started on LD'ing.
      Congratulations on your lucid dream!

The best thing you can do now is to begin keeping a dream journal. This site has an excellent feature for that...You could also just use a notebook by your bed. Keeping a dream journal increases your recall, and enables you to spot dreamsigns, which lead you on to realising you're in a dream.
Also, check out the tutorial section for various induction techniques for lucid dreaming.

Feel free to PM me or another dreamguide if you have any questions (we're the ones with green stars under our names&#33

      BTW, great introduction

      Welcome, WhiteUnit! Love the name.

I think dreaming is truly an endless source of creative inspiration. And if you can become Lucid in your comic universe, you can just go see who lives on that planet over there...! Cool and useful!

Whoa! I loved that movie and totally forgot about the connection!

Also, I have started my dream journal. I keep one next to my bed, and every time I remember my dream I write as much about it as I can. I have noticed that as Im writing down my dreams, I start remembering more and more about them. But, I cant ever seem to recall my dreams in the middle of the night ( I've been setting my alarm for 2 hours after I goto sleep, drinking 3 glasses of water, and telling myself to remember the dream.) with the except of a couple times a little while back.

I've also been looking at the tutorials, last night I was trying the 61 point technique, but things were too noisey.

I was also poking around in the forums and found an mp3 for lucid dreaming. I didnt listen to the whole thing but it seemed to be focused on making your realize your dreaming while you sleep. So, I went out and bought an alarm clock that plays CD's and has multiple alarms. Hope that works out.

      Thanks for all the greetings!
