Well first, I'd like to welcome you to Dreamviews.
About your question. I'm really not an expert on OCD (actually all I really know about it is by watching Monk and reading about it right now online), so maby if you could tell us more about your symptoms, as I understand it differs from person to person. I hope I could answer your question then.

well, i always need my keyboard and mousepad to be allighned(sp) with the desk im on, being that its curved, thats a problem . whenever something is repeated over and over again, i get annoyed. also whenever someone sings the lyrics to a song, ALL in head voice, really high and think there good. another is stupid racism, like someone says "oh he thinks he's black" just because he wheres long shirts. and sometihng i just realized, that evil firey smiley, its easy to see where the clip ends, then reapeats again, thats going to bother me for some time. and if i chew, i have to do it evenly. the only way i think OCD will help me with lucidness, is the fact that now i constantly do reality checks. and whenver i post a reply, i have to read it over and edit it alot *as you can see*.

there are a lot of things, but i don't want to have to list them all.

Welcome to the forum .

From my point of view I can't see LDing having any problems because of your OCD.

Have you checked the tutorials yet? That has all the information that you need for inducing LDs.

My roommate has anorexia and trichotilimania which are both related to OCD and she has lucid dreams all the time.

i have o.c.d. , lucid dreaming helps. iv pretty much gotten rid of it, atleast to the point of where i let it bother me. fuck it dude lets go bowling. i never realy had the compulsions though. just the "pure O " as they call it. just understand that o.c.d. is somthing you can beat the more you learn about yourself . its like how frodo had to walk to morridor. it sucks, its scary, and afterwords he couldnt live in the shire. but he wasnt evil. another supposed cure is psilocybin, the active ingrediant in magic mushrooms. i believe the u.s. government recently approved a study on psilocybin and o.c.d. im not recomending mushrooms. and there are some people who deffinately should not try them. however.

The OCD you have isn't to do with sleep or dreaming, so it shouldn't be a problem. I have mild OCD when it comes to food. I can't drink tap water and I can't eat anything that people have touched. So if there are a bowl of chips or a fruit punch bowl at a party, I pass. I just can't stop thinking of people touching things that I'm going to eat, but I still have had a few LDs.

You're fine. Welcome, and happy LDing.

I think that if you had ocd, you would have to be positive that “aligned” was spelled correctly before posting.

Being annoyed that people sing badly? Being offended by racism? Wanting your posts to be perfect? Did you go to a psychologist to diagnose you? I'm not trying to be rude, but we all have our quirks. When I was a kid they thought that I may develop ocd because I had a lot of counting rituals, but nothing prevailed. I remember when I was in high school and I would put stickers on my binders; I would put them on and take them off over and over until they were perfectly symmetrical, sometimes ruining them and throwing them away. I learned to use a ruler when I put the stickers on.

Washing your hands till you bleed, or needing to blink exactly 43 times before entering a room, or walking past a mirror over and over until you do it "just right". That's ocd.

Use your quirks as a reality check. If things are not perfect, do a reality check. If things are "too" perfect, do a reality check.

I have to go to work and I'm bitter about that.
