Red face

Hello everybody!

I want to introduce myself with this thread!
My Name is Christian and i life in Germany (more precisely in Duisburg -> maps.google.com).
Just call me Chris.
I was born in June, 1981 (carfully: my zodiac sign is Gemini ).

My native language is german, so there WILL be mistakes an especially word order mistakes in my threads .
I really understand most of the english text I read, but I rarly write or talk english. I'm out of practice...

Years ago I bought a book about lucid dreaming, but i never read it completly (look at the Amazon Link 1).
I found this site and the forum in a link from another forum by chance and got interested again.
I searched for german sources about luicid dreaming, but I found nothing usefull! There are few german websited and literature.
Now I have the following books:

Amazon Link 1 (the classic from Paul Tholey. I bought it years ago&#33
Amazon Link 2 (recommendation of Amazon users)

Currently I read the first one from Paul Tholey, but many people think it is just an introduction to lucid dreaming (is it?).
So I will read the second book afterwards and hope to find practical tips.

status quo:
- I have read the first 10 pages (I just do not find time to read )
- I have no dream journal yet. I'm going to create one and will take a simple copybook.
- I rarly remember details of my dreams. If I do, then normally just persons or places, not the plot.
- I'm really motivated currently! In the past I conducted different goals and I reach the most of them:

new car (i like cars )
regular fitness training (spinning)
now light body building
a balanced diet
different goals at work

I think it's importent to have goals. Now I want to lern luicid dreaming!

Perhaps I will join your adoption programm within the next two or three weeks.
But it might be difficult for me and my mentor because of language problems.

Greetings
Chris

Hi chris, and welcome to DV!
Another good book about Lucid dreaming is 'Exploring the World of Lucid dreaming' by Stephen Laberge. I highly recommend you get that book!
When recalling dreams it doesn't matter how little you remember, as that can help you to remember more.
Questions to ask yourself when trying to remember a dream include: 'Where was i, what was i just doing, who was i with, how did i feel?'

You'll soon find that with practise your recall will improve.

Have a nice time on the board, and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome to the board. You can write english very well, Chris...Better than some people who use English as their native tongue. Anyway, I wish you luck in your goal to start Lucid Dreaming, and I certainly hope that you learn a lot from the forum.
Shine on, you crazy diamond!

Amen to that, Gwendolyn. There are a lot of people who grew up with English as a first language that write it poorly.

Welcome, Chris. I think it's cool that you are from Germany. My dad went there years ago for a while. He taught me a Christmas song in German that I don't remember very well, and sometimes would speak to us only in German. Would have helped if we knew what he was saying. When he was tutoring my sister in your language when she was in high school, her grades actually dropped because he was teaching her a different dialect than what the teacher was. I love the pictures I've seen of your country. It looks like a beautiful place.

Hopefully, both of us will be able to gain the goal of lucid dreaming. I'm fairly new here myself and am working on dream recall and doing reality checks throughout the day. Also starting up a dream journal (again). I learned that there is a section here for dream journals that I'm starting to take advantage of. So far, only one dream there, but I've only been a member about a week.
All is not what it seems in your dreams.

Good morning!

(It is 9:55AM in Germany , does someone know the time difference to the US?)
Thank you very much for your warm welcome everyone!

I hope we will have a lot of fun together!
I also hope that I will have enought discipline to keep my mind on this extraordanry theme!

I allready found this book at Amazon, but I prefer to read book in german.
With a little practice it would be no problem to read an english book, but there are many technical term in book like there. Hard to understand, especially the technical term about psychology!

You can write english very well, Chris...Better than some people who use English as their native tongue. [/b]
You don't knwo how LONG i need to post ! This is hard work for me
The more frequently I wirte posts here, the fast I'll become...i hope-

When he was tutoring my sister in your language when she was in high school, her grades actually dropped because he was teaching her a different dialect than what the teacher was.[/b]
I can hardy imagine that! Sure we have different dialecs but the grammar is the same in each one.
In the part of Germany I life we speak mostly ähm.. it is called "Hochdeutsch". I cannot translate this .. the equivilat should be "Oxford English". So without accent..

Hopefully, both of us will be able to gain the goal of lucid dreaming.[/b]
I wish you good luck! I will watch your results.

Heres the tutorials section incase you wanted some extra information.[/b]
I allready found this section! But like reading english book (about LD), the tutorials are not easy to understand for me.

Greetings
