      Cool

I am Gyeren Feli. That means Life Energy in my own little language I made up for a role play I was in a while back. I'm 30, married to a loving husband and have two boys I absolutely love. Tori is my older one, and he's 5, Scott is my baby and he's 2.

I mostly love Star Wars and have been writing my own story about it. That's why I came across a message board that had a link to this place. I decided to check it out, and my desire for lucid dreaming was rekindled.

I live in Utah and love nature. The closest thing I can remember to having a lucid dream so far was years ago, and was nature based. There is a camp up a canyon near where I live called Koholowo and at the camp is a trail that is fairly steep, but the view at the top is incredible. This dream event happened on that trail. I was looking at it as a trail, then thought "That's not a trail. That's a waterfall." Water started flowing down it and a lovely waterfall it made. Then I decided it was not a waterfall, but a trail. The water stopped and it was perfectly dry. I kept playing with it, turning the water off and on several times. As I said, I know it was a controlled dream, just not sure if it was lucid.

I have started working on the steps to lucid dreaming, doing several 'reality checks' throughout the day, and at least repeating the dreams I remember in my mind. I'm going to start a dream journal soon, if I can. I do look forward to meeting more people here and getting more into my dreams.

Hi, welcome to DV, good to have you on board.
As regards your dream. it's only lucid if you actually realise that you are dreaming. Sounds to me like you had control of the dream, but you didn't realise you were in a dream.
      That can happen a lot.
Good luck with your progress on dream recall, this site has a great built in function for dream journals, should you care to use it.

Also, feel free to PM anyone if you have any questions, we're a good fun and friendly bunch

Thanks. I'll have to look into that dream journal function. I have seen a couple of dream signs since signing up at this place.
Whenever I open a church songbook in dreams, I remember the numbers I turn to, but the songs in the dream is nothing like the one the number is in real life.
A lot of my dreams, if it is in a house, it's the one I grew up in that I haven't lived in for over 7 years.
Dad does not drive a semi truck that has a flat front like a bus, it's a 'conventional' style truck.

I have been able to remember at least little snippets of dreams about every night, and I've been doing reality checks. Especially when something odd happens. Like just a while ago when my work schedule was released for next week, and I have saturday off. I did like 5 different things to make sure I'm awake! I usually have to request saturdays off 2 months in advance to get one off.

I am awake, but I'm sure I'll do a lot more reality checks and keep an eye on my schedule over the next week to make sure I have Saturday off. It's that strange of a thing to happen.

I've taken some of my idle time at work and started my dream journal here. I work in a call center and sometimes it gets a little slow.

I've already noticed a couple of dream signs in dreams I'd had. A lot of my dreams take place at the house I grew up in. I haven't lived there for about 7 years, but I spent over 20 there growing up. Some of my other dreams has my church songbook in it. The song numbers are real, but the words are far from being the same. I wake up and look up that number in my song book and think "what was the song my dream said was there instead of this one?"

Perhaps sometime I can pay close attention to the words and write them down when I wake up.

In the dream I've put in the journal from a few nights ago, my dad really is a truck driver, but his truck is a different type of dream. The other section of the dream, or the other dream I had that night, if I hadn't written it in a notebook, I would not have remembered it enough to post. It was only 2 nights ago.

I have had an interesting experience today at work though. I have been working saturdays for most of the year, it seems. Hardly being able to get it off when I ask for it. But next week, they scheduled me off saturday. I did like 3 or 4 reality checks, and I'm still not convinced I wasn't dreaming because it is such a strange thing to happen. Tomorrow, I'm going to double-check the schedule to make sure I saw it right.

Well, I should see what adventures I can remember tonight.

I've started up the dream journal here, and have a couple of entries, but was thinking about something and I'm not sure where to post it. I'm also not really sure how to say it. It's something that happened to me last night.

I was laying down for bed, relaxing my body and getting physically ready for sleep. As I lay there, words came into my mind. Not spoken or written, or really anything specific that I could remember. They were just there. And as it went on, the words became more real, and I knew that eventually, they would turn into images like a dream. I was excited (but stayed calm and relaxed) that this was happening, because I felt if it got to the images, I would have control over it. Before it got to that point, though, my husband rolled over and put his arm across me, and it pulled me back to waking life. I had to relax all over again to get to sleep, but couldn't get the words or barely forming images back.

I would like any comments about this. Does anyone know what this is? It seems a little to me like inducing a lucid dream without going into REM sleep, if that's possible. It's happened a couple of times over my lifetime, I think, and I'm curious about it.

      PROGRESS!

Yesturday, my husband was at work, one of my kids was at school, the other was at Grandma's house. I hadn't been feeling well, so I lay down for a nap. As I lay there, I started to dream, in which I saw the screen I look at for my work schedule. I noticed that it showed me having thursday off, as I normally do. I remembered, not specifically the day I do have off this week, just that it is not Thursday like normal. I said in the dream "That's not right!" and I thought to do a reality check (pinching my nose to see if I could breath). Before I could do it, the dream faded and I felt myself laying on the bed, completely relaxed. I knew if I did that reality check, I find I was now in the real world, which I was.

I just wanted to post the progress I've been having in my quest for lucid dreaming. When they did release my work schedule for this week, and I saw saturday off, I did several reality checks, because that is very rare that I get that day off, even if I specifically request it. I've done a reality check about every day to make sure it's right that I have saturday off. That really seems to have sunk in.

Perhaps next time, I'll be able to stay asleep when it happens.

If anyone is reading this, last night, I DID IT! :yumdumdoodledum: I believe it was a WILD.

I was laying in bed, drifting off. I started to see an image, and it solidified into a platform of some sort. I have it described in detail in my dream journal on-line here. The link to the journal is at the bottom of this post. Anyway, back to the sum-up.

I started walking, and the whole area suddenly faded into black. Not wanting it to end so soon, I pictured the area I started in, and it came back. I walked a little further, and it faded again. I pictured the begining area and it came back again. I walked a bit further than I had gotten the first two times, and it faded away. This time, I did not get it back. My toddler was climbing into bed with me and it broke my concentration/relaxation.

I admit I didn't really have any control over it this time besides willing it back, but I had a lucid dream!

The first time, it was stopped before the images came. This time, the images were there, but it stopped before I could explore. Perhaps next time, it will be more stable and able to be explored. It felt as though my mind was creating this dream location as I went, so when I went beyond where it was already created, I figuratively hit the wall and had to start again. When I got to the area I was again where I'd previously 'blacked out', my mind had created more of it and I could explore a little further. Until I got to the next edge of the created world.

      Or something like that.

My dream journal can be found at this link if anyone wants to read it:
