Hi all. Hope everyone is doing well and in good health and spirits. My name is Rami from Montreal, Canada and I have been dabbling in all forms of alternative thinking for about 10 years now. Kind of sucks that we have to call it “alternative” thinking when in my opinion it is really the more conventional way of thought and being.

I have been away from lucid dreaming for quite a while and have now re-dedicated myself to the art once more ( I like to call it an art as I am an artist). This time I plan on staying lucid. This time it’s for money! (

It’s not quite like riding a bike I am finding. The skills do not come back that easily, but they don't go away fully. I guess Lucid Dreaming is a state of being rather than actually "controlling your dreams".

I have a couple of questions and I guess I need to post in the Newbie section…makes me feel kind of discriminated against being called a newbie 

      1) The small icons on the right of the threads, posts, or stickies. What does it mean when there is a small white corner tab at the bottom right of the icon?

      2) I usually go to sleep around 11 PM and wake up at around 6. After keeping a journal for the past month or so I am finding that my meatiest dreams are around 5:00 – 5:30. Am I cutting my dream state short by waking up at 6:00? How would I be able to sort of push my dream stages back a half hour or so?

      3) I watch only 2 things on the telly, Miami Ink on TLC and Family Jewels (Gene Simmons Reality show). And they usually play before I fall asleep. So I end up freaking dreaming of Gene Simmons and the dudes from Miami ink for more than 3 or 4 dreams each. Even though the dreams are super detailed and realistic, I already feel like Im wasting time watching the idiot box let alone having the stuff play in my dreams…should I stop watching TV you think or will the dream state change once I get closer and closer to lucidity.

From what I have been reading on the board you guys are a bunch of very cool people and I am very happy to be part of this forum.

Looking forward to discussions and such, I bid you all adieu for now.

Yeah, it can take a little work to get back in the swing of it, but don't worry -- if you are serious and confident, it will come back.

Don't feel that way -- we were all newbs once.

Errr... not exactly sure what you're referring to. If you mean the little orange boxes to the left of the thread titles, the orange box always means that there are messages in that thread that are new since the last time you looked at it. I think they are always white in the lower-right corner -- but I might be wrong about that. If you're referring to the little folder icons -- again to the left of the topics -- there is a legend at the bottom of the screen that explains those.

Perhaps. Sleep cycles are normally about 90 minutes long, and you typically won't start having long REM periods (and therefore good, meaty dreams) until after you have at least 3-4 sleep cycles under you belt in a night. I find that I don't get satisfactory dreams unless I'm asleep at least 6 hours, and they are much better if I get 7.5 - 9 hours. Of course, this varies from person to person, and even from one night to the next, so just experiment and see how it works for you.

It's fairly normal to dream about things that you've experienced recently, so your choice of viewing may very well be affecting your dreams. I don't know that it will change when you get closer to lucidity, but if you can use these things as a dream sign to induce lucidity, then you should be able to manipulate the dreams into anything you want.

I'd like to think that's an accurate assessment. We're glad to have you here, and look forward to your contributions.

      Thanks a bunch TygrHawk!

Yeah I am very dedicated this time around, I have 3 alrm clocks set for different times during the night just in case I miss the end of a dream cycle. Using TV imagery as a dream sign is a superbe idea!!! I will definateley try that tonight (hope I remeber&#33.

It is really nice to meet you, I'll keep you posted on my progress 1st hand.

I think it means you have posted in that thread. Welcome!
The new evolutionary paradigm will give us the human traits of truth, of loyalty, of justice, of freedom. These will be the manifestations of the new evolution. And that is what we would hope to see from this. That would be nice.
