Hey guys, I tried WILD 3 times and no success, a question for experienced WILDers:

How many attempts were needed to perform your first successful WILD??
      A new beginning?

You're not going to like this, but for me, it was EVERY night for three months. However, i am married and the distraction of having someone in bed next to me probably accounted for over half of the failed attempts.

The main thing is to keep trying. Good luck!

Are you making progress with each attempt? Progress can be anything, from being able to focus longer to actually getting SP or HI.

My first experience with WILD was in my second night after coming back to the LD Journey (hehhe)

Somehow I woke up at the middle of the night and I felt very tired to recall my dreams, so I've decided to sleep again... But I still conscious, thinking about my loss! (on Dream Recall, hehehehe) I felt my body going to a numb state and I started to hear a VERY loud and realistic sound! I thought that I was the sound's source!! I couldn't move! So I get too scary and after many attempts to move my body, my counscious came back and I woke up!!

So guys, what happened? I got close to a WILD??

My Dream Recall is not so good yet, About 1-2 dreams (sometimes only frags) per night! So what do you recommed for me: Keep moving on WILD or just try other easier method like DILD and MILD? (I have 2 LDs so far)

I'd say just try whatever method you're interested in. Just keep in mind that WILD is really hard for most people, so practice in another method is a good idea.

And Henrique, I've tried WILD 3 times and never gotten close...

It took me about two months of avid WILD attempts. It takes a lot of perserverance. Hang in there, if you are really set on WILDing, and keep a good, open-minded attitude. You'll get it eventually.

I'd say if you're hearing sounds, you're closer than most!

Only thing is, why would you be scared? There is nothing to be afrain of; honestly I look forward to when I finally do get SP and noises, and not just because it means I'm closer to LDing! It actually sounds like fun, lol.

Maybe I shouldn't talk smack tho till I actually experience it... Anyways, yeah, if it's any encouragement, you're closer than many people I've read about. Just keep trying; you'll get it.

Thanks for starting this topic, i´ve had the same question myself. When do you usually try to WILD? Just before bed? Or with naps and daydreaming?

      thanks

jaymar320... People said that is easier to do WILD after 5-6 hours of sleep (using WBTB)

But you can do without it if you can, but it's harder!

Well the closest I've come has been during an afternoon nap, in which, for a brief second, I WILDed into a dream where I was standing next to a highway with cars with the BRIGHTEST headlights were passing by. I have to admit though, I've never really stayed up for a while or tried taking caffeine as has been recommended by some. We'll see!

I haven't been successful with WILD yet, but on all of my attempts (which is around 10 or so) I got really close, to either hearing sounds or feeling vibrations and swinging movements. Just keep trying, and you'll get there eventually.

You're lucky to get so close. WILD's are really hard to do... although i have actually had one once, but i think it was by accident and i wasnt ver good at it, but i did figure out a way to wake myself up, which is good i geuss but i have only had about 4 LDs in my lifetime, so im not experienced or anything.

I don't have class tomorrow so tonight I'll be trying a WBTB after waiting for 5 hours of sleep and a half hour after injesting some caffeine. The counting method seems the most illogical but I'm going to use it because it's the only one that has produced results. Cross fingers!

Lol well I'm sorta the same way. We should start a thread where we have regulars who try and WILD every night or two and report our progress, and get tips from everyone else. Also it's said that its better to attempt a WILD if you just had a lucid dream. Something about just dreaming or having a lucid dream lets you "step into" the dream much easier. Also Jaymar I'm crossing my fingers for you!
