Boring intro stuff: I'm from Canada, I'm a furry (if anyone knows what that is, +2 pts! , I love random stuff like building computers, working in machine shops all that jazz.
So! After recently conversing with a friend over all the weird dreams we had, we started discussing lucid dreaming. He told me about being able to be aware you're dreaming, and then having the ability to control yourself within it! That was motivation enough to do some googling ( lol... ) and I found myself here!
To start off, I don't quite know where my dream recall stands. I typically remember 1-2 dreams per week, but they're usually not that detailed (maybe if I wrote them down as soon as I got up, they would be! ). Is that normal for someone starting out? The main goal I want to focus on right now is improving that number to as high as I can get it. I'm 16, so I've got no problem being up late at night to record stuff!
Now, I think I've had a few lucid dreams before. They've only been nightmares, though. Right before something awful would happen, I'd realize, "Hey moron! I'm dreaming!!" and instead of trying to change the dream, my first reflex is to try and wake myself up (which I would accomplish by trying to open my eyes as far as I could, this almost always brought me out of it.) hence, I'd only be lucid for a few seconds.
Hehe, so yeah, that's me I'm totally excited to get working on this!
Like I mentioned, I'd really like to improve my dream recall. I'm starting a DJ tonight. Would it help to write down any fragments of dreams I've had in the past? Or should I start fresh?
Thanks all! You'll be seeing a lot of me!
