Hi there. I'm Gavin as my name suggests. I've been reading these boards on and off for about 4 months now and i've been attempting lucid dreaming on and off for that time. Broken up by working abroad mainly.

I've had the lone 1 lucid dream which lasted a few seconds. My dream recall has always been pretty good when i put effort into it however when my girlfriend stays over my sleep is messed up. I hate her.. (i dont.... or do i?)

So i thought i'd join as i'm getting more into it. What a wonderfully interesting subject, sometimes it baffles me to think of the possibilities and how the mind works.

I'm from Sheffield in the UK. It's cold. I'll probably keep reading the posts till i have something useful to say. Keep up the good work!

      Sweet dreams.

Hi Gavin! Glad you found the forum! You've definitely come to the right place to hone your LDing skills.

Have you been keeping a dream journal? If not, that's your first official piece of homework - start one! Seriously, not only will it help your recall, but it will help you to recognize dreamsigns and patterns to your dreams which will help you become more aware during dreams and increase the likelihood of your having LDs.

And if you haven't already, you should check out the tutorials. And if you like to read, I'd recommend picking up a copy of Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge - a must-have for anyone interested in LDing. This book is commonly referred to as the LDing Bible, and it's great reading material before you go to bed to help you get into the right frame of mind!

Please let us know if you have any questions. Good luck and have fun!

Aha! I've done everything you said already. Got the recall working well.. when i focus on it. I've always been able to remember my dreams. The thing i have trouble with is early in the morning after a dream; occassionally the dream makes so little sense that i have nowhere to start writing and i know i should just write down details but i convince myself not to bother as it wont make sense.. Just gotta 'build my will' as my homeboy Stevie LaBerge would say.

Ha! Well done! Nice to see someone that knows their shit.

Well, as far as the willpower to actually write down all those weird dreams, no one can give you that - just know that for the few seconds it'll take you to do it, you are accomplishing something. Maybe you'll gain insight from these senseless dreams, you never know. It's just good to stay in the habit of recording it.

      Keep up the good work
