Hi all,

I was wondering, is it possable to have a lucid dream in which you are doing school? 'Cause If you dont remember something in say math, how are you going to remember it in the dream when you are just in your head. And also, is it possable to create some more artistic things in a lucid? like a painting or a poem. Cause from my understanding, your right brain is at work more in a dream (if im creazy just tell me ) so yea thats about the extent of my questions for now - still wating for a major lucid, only had two that I can remember and they were amazingly short.

Thanks to all for answering my obvously dumb questions

Hiya, they aren't dumb questions not at all...love the name by the way, ive always wanted to visit there.
'is it possible to have a lucid dream where you are doing school'? you ask.

It's possible to do ANYTHING in a lucid dream. The only limit is your imagination.
as to creating things, i woke up this morning singing a song that was in my dream, that my brain had made up. It had lovely words, and a nice melody (sort of like a folk song). But i can't remember it now...

Someone once told me about a poet...it might have been Yeats...no, it wasn't him...damn, i can't remember.
But anyway, this poet, had a dream about this thing he was going to write (as a result of smoking pot i think) and when he sobered up, he couldn't remember it!!!

so, your brain is quite capable of making things up...after all, that's what dreams are, things your brain has made up.

Thumbs up

hmm...

the thing I dont understand is - in the real world, you learn by reading txt books ect. but in a dream, anything you read is in your mind, so how can you learn anything that you dont already know?
We all live and die, but most of us die without living.

You can remeber things that you have forgotten in the real world in dreams just try and put it into context e.g. your math teacher talking e.t.c. Also the right brain thing is just rubbish actaully your frontal cortex and occipital lobe are the most active in dream. Also the right brain/left brain is just a myth like the we only use ten percent of our brain myth. In one of my dreams i saw various artwork of leonardo da vinchi so i know it possible some suggest that mc esher got some of his ideas from dreams and salvador dali. Hey i think i might try and imagine me writing and drawing and painting e.t.c. whilst going to sleep i wonder if that work for a wild.

Has anyone actually tried to write something in a dream? I think it would be difficult given the difficulty of keeping text from shifting/changing/running around on the page/computer screen - although perhaps you could create a short poem and then write it down when you woke up.

I sometimes create music during lucid dreams that I hear very vividly, but it fades away quickly when I wake up and I haven't been able to get any of it written down...

I once had a vivid false awkening in which I proceeded to write in my dream journal. I was quite upset the next morning when I realized I hadn't actually written anything down.

There is an aphex twin album called Selected Ambient Works vol. II that he claims to have composed entirely in various lucid dreams. Very interesting, and a great album to go to sleep to actually.
