      Hey to everybody!

First of all, the name's Fairuz. But you could just call me by my nickname (Jbmoisin). From Malaysia and now living in Le Mans, France.

So, back to business. I started to learn about lucid dreaming since last 2 weeks and never had any experience in one (Not yet, but WILL do so! :yumdumdoodledum: ). Still trying to find the best method for me as i can't easily get myself to sleep. So, LD inducing audio and VILD is a no-no for me.

Since you are reading this, i guess i have your attention already. So, i want to ask a few questions:

      */me taking a deep breath*

      1) As we all know that sleeping is the only way to relax all of our body. So, if we keep on having conciousness during our sleep, doesn't it somehow affect the result of our sleep? I mean, we are still working our brain, whereas in normal sleep, it's kept to minimal.

      2) Could we actually profit something from this? I mean, i know having the possibilities to do out-of-mind things like flying, breath underwater, etc is cool, but could it help us to cope with our daily life? For example, for a student like me, could i profit something from it (e.g: Studying during LDing, makes our memory stronger , etc..)

*/me finally able to catch his breath again..*

Well that's all for now. Hope to hear from you guys soon and that i could have my first LD with your help.

Oh yeah. I forgot to tell you who's my referrer. I don't know his name here, but he's forzaitalia from www.fbtz.com. I'll try to get his name and post it back here.

      Till then!

      Edited: His name is _omni_

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

The Newest Newbie... that sounds like a book title or something. *idea!*

Welcome to our home! _omni_ did good refering you here, so much to learn and so much to do! Our forum is a great knowledge base on not only Lucid Dreaming, but other things as well. Not to mention our community is the friendliest bunch you'll ever meet! Glad you could join us But we need to get one thing straight: Blue. My color. You cant have it.

For dreaming, DILDing and WILDing are possibly the most effective ways. DILDing, all you do is practice in waking life. Do reality checks, question everything around you, and get in the habit of asking yourself if your dreaming. Turn these things into habits, and you'll start doing them in your dreams. When you do, it'll click in that your dreaming and voila!

WILDing is much harder, but you pass straight from awake life into dreaming. Its the hardest of all the methods, until you master it. Once you do, you can Lucid Dream on demand! Even if your just plain bored in the middle of the afternoon, give your self a Lucid!

      To your two Questions:

Nope! In fact, it actually would make your sleep better. Your body gets relaxed, and sleeps, and re-energized, but your still conscious and thinking. This state of Consciousness and Deep thought keep the mind active. Unlike the body, the mind is energized through use.

People wake up reportadly feeling more refreshed after Lucid Dreaming than after regular sleep.

Yes! People use Lucid Dreaming for this reason all the time. Need extra studying time, go ahead. Need time think, perfect! People use Lucid Dreaming to practice their activities, think, study everything. Lucid Dreaming can be as useful as it is fun!

Hope this helps you! If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to PM me, or any other member! We're happy to help!

Ah, such a warm welcome, it is!

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep your advice in mind.

I'm looking forward to have a LD soon enough. Pray for me please.

Btw, how many hours do most of you sleep daily? As for me, during weekdays, it'll be 6 hours. And i think it's just minimum time to have a decent LD, isn't it?

On weekdays, about 6 hours. On weekends... lets just say more than 6 hours

6 hours is good for an LD, but even an hour can be good, should you be able to get a decent dream atmosphere within an hour of sleep. WILDing would be best for that.

      Newbies all over AWESOME!
If work does not get in the way I get a full eight hours of sleep.
It does not seem the norm. But it was how I was introduced to lucid dreaming => as a learning tool. It gives you such an insight to ourselves.

      Oh ya WELCOME!!!

Welcome! I'm semi-new to the forum myself and I have sporadic LDs (right now, a couple each month, with varying intensity). Combien de temps avez-vous passé en France? Moi j'étudie le francais; je serais tellement reconnaissante si j'aurais l'opportunité de pratiquer un peu...

Edit: Also, it seems to me that when I sleep 8+ hours it's a lot easier for me to remember my dreams. When I sleep less than that, I usually don't remember anything at all.

Are you having a holy moment?

J'habite en France depuis le 2003. Mais, mon français n'est pas encore génial, tu vois? Si veux parler en français avec moi, je vais pas dire le contraire. En même temps, tu peux m'aider à avoir les LDs , ok?

P/s: 2 weeks of xmas holiday for me to train myself to get LDs. Go me, go!

After 2 weeks of trials, i still can't get ld yet. It's not that i'm afraid that i'll give up. But i'm more afraid that all the way i try to induce LD are wrong.

I tried VILD/AILD/MILD at night before sleeping then WBTB after getting up but all failed horribly. I kept a dream journal and do RC like all the time. So, i dunno what went wrong. I hope it's not the way i did it because i followed everything in the tutorial. If it's just that i have to wait, and i did nothing wrong, then it's okay. I have all the time in the world.

Just one more thing. I seriously have a problem in concentrating. This affects my studies too. I can't concentrate like i used to. I can hardly concentrate on reading my notes for 15 minutes before my mind wonders away. This is the same when i tried to have a LD. Eventhough i tried to count my breath (while saying to myself that i want to have LD), i'll end up losing the counts and my mind will wonder away at not more than 100.

      So, HELP!!
