      I'm new...to all of this

I was just making my way around the internet today when I stumbled upon the dreamviews site. I started reading, and really just couldn't stop. It all seemed so unreal, the fact that I could actually do this...well anyways, I wasted away a 2-hour class reading everything I possibly could about it.

I consider myself a pretty grounded guy. But after reading all of this and learning to question my reality...I was almost nihilistic for a moment. It scared the hell out of me.

Anyways, suppose what I'm trying to say is that I'm here. Don't know for how long, but I have to know more about this; I have to try it. The dream journal starts tonight.

That is the exact same way I had felt. I was 30 years old when I had heard about the possibility of Lucid dreaming. At that point in your life you pretty much think you have been there and done that. But If you think you are blown away reading about LD's, stick around and have one. then see how blown away you are

This may sound a bit unusual, but it's nice to have a 'true' newbie appaer here. Most newbies already have experience with LDs and already have some experiences to share, so it'll be interesting to hear about your experiences, starting from scratch...

Have fun and lets hope you stay as dedicated as you seem now

To be honest with you, I'm really kinda scared of it. I'm attempting to develop my dream recall right now...with no luck as of last night.

      Any tips on recalling?

just stick with it. the first night of trying to develop dream recall turned out with me not remembering any dreams. now im up to 3 a night. it might help to keep telling yourself 'i will wake up after every dream i have and remember it completely' maybe that will help you make some progress.

Yea, what skateboard said. Stick with it, it will eventually come. I havnt remembered a dream in a week and a half-ish. But I've had alot on my mind and havnt really been in the mood to. It all depends on your frame of mind. And if you dont feel like it, then dont do it that day =)

      Yep...it's pretty discouraging though.

Last night, woke up about four times on my own, each time going to sleep as i tell myself "I'm going to wake up and remember my dreams...I'm going to wake up and remember my dreams..."

How many dreams I recalled each time I woke up? None.

Geh...I really feel as if I might have already been lucid. I'm constantly performing reality checks, the topic of lucidity is in the back of my mind...but I can't remember the dern dreams!

Patience, patience. Been at it since january, no real results... Gets frustrating at times, but you also learn. I can endure it. Keep trying. You'll be rewarded in the end.

yo keywords or images i find helps greatly... images are the best though... after a while the dream pours out (well for me) guess there are many ways... might just stumble apon the right approach when you least expect it.

Does anyone wake up and once asleep again you re-emerge in your dream ? the amount of times doesnt matter... and wether it is the same place or not ?

      WELCOME!!!!!!!

In order to improve your recall I would suggest that after you wake up, you analyze how you are feeling. This feeling might give you a hint on what you experienced in your dreams. Many times all you need is a small clue and by persuing it you will eventually uncover its entirety.

I would also recommend you set your alarm for 6 hours after you go to sleep, and then every 90 minutes. This way you will wake up for your REM cycles and have the dreams fresh in your mind...

      Hope I have been helpfull...

Hmm, haven't heard the whole analyze-your-feelings thing yet. Makes a lot of sense, I'll have to try it.

You sure did attract a lot of welcomes, so I will add.. WELCOME!!! 8)

Everyone pretty much said everything about recall and such, but I wanna sound cool too . Just be sure to think of your dreams as soon as you wake up, ask yourself "what did I just dream about?" Try to recall certain events and just think. Don;t get frustrated because when it comes to you, you will think "oh yaaa!!!!" Then later on, when you get your first lucid dream, you will think, YES!!!!!!!!!!! :bravo:
