      Howdy...Just joined today...

      Been reading about Lucid dreaming ever since my friend told me about the ability to control your dreams by looking at your hands in your dream, of course at first I was like bull.... Then after reading tons of info on the net became obsessed. The bad thing is I cant remember dreams at all. Since trying to start recalling dreams I've remembered only 1 and it was crazy. I've started the journal, but it sucks having one that you cant write anything in. I do all the thinking before bed about remembering my dreams and waking up from my dreams. Haven't tried the alarm method but sleeping with another person everynight I dont want to have to wake them up. Also, I wanna ask if going to sleep at odd hours like 4 or 5 am but sleeping until 12, 2, or 3pm would effect dream recall and obtaining lucidity overall.. Thank you, and any tips would be sweet.

      I don't think odd hours will make a difference to your dream recall ability, as long as you've grown accustomed to those hours and your sleep times aren't random.

      As for increasing dream recall - what about instead of an alarm use a vibrating thing (no not that vibrating thing) discussed somewhere on the 'Ataining Lucidity' forum. FAiling that, you just need to persist and eventually you will see an improvement. Remember: you will suceed

      Some people.... Yes you Seeker.... have had success with drinking a lot of water before they go to sleep so they have to get up often during the night when nature calls. With luck you will remember a dream or two. Haha, yes I know I stole this idea but hey you don't have to worry about setting an alarm. Anyway just as Identity X says.... you will succeed!!!

      P.S. I also don't think weird hours of sleep affect dream recall. But I cannot stress enough the amount of sleep. I find I dream a lot more with more hours of sleep. After 6+ hours we are more likely to recall and hopefully become lucid!!!!

      WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Dream recall can be hard... before trying to recall them, I would remember like one a month or so... Now I can easily remember 5 a night after a month and a half of dedication. I was almost to the point of giving up, but stick with it!!!!

      Also, my sleeping patterns have never been right... most of the time getting like 5 hours of sleep at night, then 4 more during the day, or a full 14 hours at night... but everything is going fine!

      wow, you guys sure dont waste any time in responding to posts on this site, thats cool. Well just woke up after about 4.5 hours of sleep, woke up on my own, couldn't remember anything decided to have a smoke and come read some stuff on LD. Well thanks for the advice people, and now I'm going back to sleep cause i am very tired......

      I think MonkeyElk is a great name... Its a long story behind it, i'll explain some time in another post... I REMEMBERED MY DREAM TODAY!! yay, well at least 1, so thats 2 in like 4 or 5 days, so I guess I have done alright since before that I could only remember a dream every couple months or so. So ok, I was at my temple having dinner with all of my family, grandparents too, and they were all pissing me off and all eyes were on me the whole time, and finally my mom said something really ignorant to piss me off and I ran away from the table, she came after me and I hid in an office I think so she would go by, but she walked right into the office but it was a different woman so I think she either morphed or something. Then all these servers from Applebees (where I work) were running around my temple trying to recruit people like crazy, I just had to keep tellin them I already work there... then i think I woke up....

      hello everybody

      hello im the friend who introduced monkey into dreaming. He passed the name of this site my way. Originally i got into it because i read somewhere that learning how to see your hand s in a dream would make u realize u were in one. SO in my waking life i would focus on my hands and ask my self if i was dreaming. THen one time i really was! I went ahead and registered to become more dream efficient, i often lose my dream right after become lucid.

      I am much better at ping pong than enraged lion, and we plan one day on having a shared dream in which we battle to the death high up on mount doom or something in a crazy flying ping pong battle......actually i just made that up, but it sounds awesome...
