Well, um, obviously I'm new here, and pretty new to LD. I'm pretty shy in forums but I figured this was too important to sit back and be quiet about, so...

I think I've had a few lucid dreams in the past without knowing that they were called that. The most recent instance I can remember happened earlier this month... it was a very abstract dream at first, so much so that it was pretty easy for me to realize I was dreaming, even without knowing anything about RCs and so forth. I have an 'obsession' with wings and flying, so I tested to see if I had control by 'wishing' for wings. This didn't go so well at first because I ended up gliding around hanging onto a white bedsheet, but then that turned into my wings and I was standing in a clearing in a forest. I was conscious of taking a deep breath and counting down before I tried to fly - and not only did it work, but I felt everything, from the muscles in my wings and back working to lift me up (which, to my delight, did not hurt) to the wind blowing over me as I mounted into the sky. I was so excited that I don't know how I stayed asleep, but then I lost control of the dream and it basically backed out to third person and I watched myself fly around, unable to feel it anymore. Not long after that, I woke up.

That realistic feeling of those wings and that flight is why I want to get into lucid dreaming. If I can control my dreams and point situations in that direction by my consciousness of being in a dream, maybe I'll get to feel that again.

Yes, I'm weird and I have a weird obsession. But that's okay. We're all dreamers here, right? :3
