First of all, hello DV people!!

I apologize because my post is going to be really too long (and also if it's not at the right place). Also I want to thanks DV for providing all theses informations about dreamin

      Part of my background:
During the last 6-7 years I had the following problem:
When I was going to bed really tired. Instead of falling asleep, I was paralysed in my bed. Then some strong vibrations and strange stuff with my hearth were happening. I was really afraid of this, thinking I was close to die! The only way I found to escape, was waking up. I also tried to fight against the vibrations, but they where just increasing, making me feel a lot of pain in my head. I was waking up 10 times before being able to sleep. Nobody has been able to let me understand what was happening...

But 2 months ago, I heard about LD and started to read alot about dreaming. I understood that it was sleep paralysis, vibrations and hynagogic imagery. Around 3 weeks ago, I made a WILD after approx. 6 hours of sleep (i can speak about this, but not there, the post is already sooo long&#33.

Yesterday, I was really really tired, and "my problem" happenned. I woke up two times, then I thought "hey, it's just normal, your are just falling asleep". So I accepted the situation and stay calm. I thought I stay in during 1 minutes, watching some HI, feeling vibrations. I had a very strange impressions:
I heard somebody walking on the 1st floor (hallucination) of my house (I'm on the 3rd), and though something like "my body is on the 3rd floor and my conscious on the 1st", I had this feeling that I was really deep in my "mind".
Maybe i'm not clear, but that's not the point. Then, because I was fearing what will happens next, I woke up. It was really stronger than my WILD experience 3 weeks ago. I'm a bit frustreted of having fear...

      My questions are the follows:
      - If I try to WILD at this point, what will happen? Normally I should go into deep sleep state, not REM state no?
      - Why does this happens only when I'm tired? (my oppinion is that it's because my body is tired but not my mind).
      - Does anybody had the same kind of experience/problem?

Do the vibrations feel like your in an earthquake or like your "rubber banding"? A slow, strong vibration? Concentrate on speeding up the vibrational frequency and see what happens.
What a long, strange trip it's been.

      Well it's hard to describe...

It starts with a "high pitch" or "quick light vibration". Then, it's like if they were "shifting", getting slower and stronger. So at the end it's what you call "A slow, strong vibration". This "shifting" is also visual, the HI seems to follow the vibes.

I read that there are different kind of vibrations, anybody knows something about that?

Thanks for your answer Aneas, I will try to speed theses vibes up next time.

      Welcome to the Forum

These things your feeling are normal. If trying to WILD, you will always feel this things during the WILD. They are very helpful to WILDing as well. The reason they happen when your tired is, Sleep Paralysis comes into the later stages of falling asleep, and the early stages of waking up. What SP is, is the brain sends a chemical through your blood to stop you from acting out your dreams in reality. It ussually starts at the later stages of falling asleep that we normally don't remember. The reason your feeling it is because at the point it happens, your conscious enough to remember it. Its basically how the WILD works. You effectively try to stay conscious, awake and aware as you fall asleep.

      Once again, its completely normal.

Be sure to browse the boards and ask questions if you need anything. If you have any other questions we'd be more then happy to help

      Happy Dreaming!

It happened this morning again. This time a tried to increase the vibrations. I don't know why but I just imagined that I was falling, this was increasing vibrations/HI a lot.

I saw some beautifull planets morphing in other one. Then I saw a window with some buildings on the other side, I was unable to go through it, unable to go in the dream universe Then there was a frigthening visualization (I don't know why it was frightening): A purple mosaic window with shadows of knight passing. I just laught, and made the knights go faster. I had a false awakening and finally a there was a guy standing up near my bed. Stick in my body, I moved my left (mental) arm, looked at it, then I moved the right one. Finally I (mentally) woke up, I was in front of the guy, he was old, smaller than me and had a bore. I was feeling my lightweight mental body, really amazing.

At the end, a really nice experience

Those "vibrations" are called Hypnic (aka Hypnagogic) Jerks. Which are also normal occurances in the sleep cycle, they ussually however occur in the later stages of falling asleep and early stages of waking up, when we aren't conscious enough to remember them.

They are often described as a falling sensation or quick jolts. The falling sensation is ussually coupled(at least for me anyway) with images of actually falling as you described.

      Hello, and welcome

Iv been working on WILDing for a while and have gotten really close. I stopped being afrade when i realized that i was in bed, and according to this site, what I was experiancing was both normal, and happens every time you fall asleep. If you realize that there really is nothing to fear, that you will eather lucid or fall asleep, you should be on your way.
We all live and die, but most of us die without living.

      "There is no spoon!"

      Lucid dreams: 2
      WILD: .9
Awaking to find your still asleep: priceless
