I don't know how to describe it.. but I always know I'm dreaming. It's not good, I know, but my whole life thus far, ever since I was 10, I've always looked forward to sleep because that's where I could finally escape my life. I don't really fit in at school.. Not to say I'm wierd or anything, just that I share no common intrests with my fellow class mates. I don't really care if you know how old I am, because I am not about to give my personal info out, I just want help, and this help isn't from psychiatrists or psychologists, as my mother belives: I am 16, and I have had control of my dreams ever since I can remember. I'm afraid of reality, and honestly I don't even know what the word reality realy is. To me, it's what ever you belive in. I'm not sure and I'm alway wanting to absorb new knowledge, so that I can base some form of idea on life, but there is no end to the possibilities of this world.. God, I feel like some kind of freak that doesn't fit in with society. I WANT TO KNOW ALL ABOUT THIS "Lucidity" in dreams. Please help me. I want to learn, but not let this consume my life. Thank you so much.

The positive thing about LDing is that you can learn all you want and focus on it as much as possible, and it still won't consume your life.
You can't sleep your life away--and if you try to sleep longer to attain more LD's, you'll find that the optimum amount of sleep is 8 hours, so for more LD's, you'll be sleeping at just the right level for good health, too. And since reality checks don't consume much time (maybe a couple of seconds every half hour max), it won't impede your daily activities.
So relax, look through the tutorials, and start practicing some reality checks and begin a dream journal.
In two weeks, find somebody to adopt you. I'd be willing, if you want. I share your avid desire for knowledge, so perhaps it would be a good match?

Anyway, if you have any specific questions, just post them on the forum or PM me or one of the mods about it, we'd all be glad to help.
Enjoy!

I usually remember most of my dreams with clearly and vividly, yet I am still trying to be aware that I am dreaming (which I succeeded in doing last night). If you find it easy to be aware that you're dreaming then you'll find that it would be simple (well that would be lying - it would be simpler than it would for me) to take control of your dreams. And if you find that you don't fit in at school maybe I can help, because I don't fit in a t school, yet I have found a way to cope.
If you have to quote me on anything, quote me as saying,

Thank you. I can control my dreams, that's the thing. I just never knew it was something other people could do. I was curiouse about it yesterday, so I googled controlling your dreams, and I got here. It's wonderful to know I'm not alone. ^_^ I always know when I'm dreamming, and I do as I wish in them. I know in my dreams, I alone, have the power. I know how to do anything in them, the one thing I always remember is that I have to belive in myself.

Hey there foxrain!

The adoption program is basically a Dream Mentor program. A person experienced and knowledgeable on Lucid Dreaming "adopts" you and gives you one-on-one help with Lucid Dreaming, Dream Control, Recall ect. Whatever you need

Its required that you be active here for 2 weeks however, as it not only assures us that the person will be sticking around, but it gives the person a chance to get to know the community, get used to the forums and help us know a bit about you which makes it that much easier to help you.

Your definatly not alone. If you take a look at the bottom of the page, you'll see we have over 9000 members all interested in Lucid Dreaming. Not to mention the other communities out there dedicated to this wonderful ability. Thats also not including the many others out there who are interested in Lucid Dreaming but know not of these communities, or the people who are naturals (such as yourself) who never knew what it was before now

Be sure to check out the Tutorials Section for more help.

Im sure you'll enjoy it here. We have a really friendly and helpful community. So if you have any questions, or need any help, don't be afraid to ask.

Once again, Welcome to Dreamviews!

Thank you so much! ^_^ The info you, and everybody else, has given me is so much help! I didn't think there was even a term for such a thing as controlling one's dreams.

Hiya. I've read your first post, and WELCOME! I would PM you a welcome but I think Exo's already done that.

I just wanted to chip in and say, that in my experience, the more goings-on you have in real-life, and the more things that are in your life and happening, the better dreaming is.

So, PERHAPS, and this is just a suggestion, but as part of your daily exercises dream-wise, perhaps you could make a goal to have a new or vivid life-experience every day? Even if it's something little like saying hello to a complete stranger who is obviously in a bad mood, or winking at someone, or wearing something vivid to school that is obviously going to be a conversation piece and maybe sort of funny and slightly embarassing. Do more real-life stuff to enrich your dream life, and vice-versa. Dreams and real-life should have a symbiotic relationship, not an exclusive one.
