Well, to begin I have been working now for 3 months to train myself for lucid dreaming. I have been using the dream recall and WILD technique almost every night to try and guide myself into lucidity, but alas it seems that there is now a problem.

I can relax and guide my mind into a restful state, but as I begin to feel my body slide into SP my breathing becomes erratic for no apparent reason (just to mention I am very calm by this point and am in no way agitated or overly excited) I begin to get very very hot all over. At this point I become agitated by the heat and erratic breathing, which sadly forces me to start the whole process of relaxation all over again.

I really feel that if I could overcome this problem I could fall into my first lucid dream. knowing that am just a step away from realizing my minds potential is quite unnerving, so if anyone has any suggestions as to how to overcome this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

This sounds somewhat like the point at-which the WILD process starts. You're usually unconscious by this time, when not retaining your consciousness, so you don't notice it though! Just try to remember that it's all part of the process, and try to relax through it

i havent all the badges and accolades these lot award themselves but have you tried not trying?
sounds silly but if you use a method for so long it should become second nature and your concious attempts may be hampering your ability to dream lucidly just a thought, give it up for a few nights and return to it may help, i find that my most vivid "lucid " dreams are the ones that just happen.
