I heard about your site from another forum (www.ugoplayer.com/forum) and I decided to check it out. I've never really thought lucidity was possible while dreaming, mainly because I never did it before, and I've never heard much, if anything, about it.

Anyways, I had my first LD Sunday morning without even trying anything, and it was pretty sweet. I managed to write a good amount of the dream down in a notebook, so here's an abbreviated version of it, if anyone's interested:

I woke up around 9:30am after about a solid 8 hours of sleep. I was still exhausted, so after checking my clock on my desk, I put my head back down and fell back asleep almost immediately.

The dream starts with me walking through a Home Depot/Lowe's with some of my family members. Somehow, I realize I'm dreaming without even doing a reality check. I think all I did was notice, "Hey, I was in my bed a few minutes ago, and now I'm in a Home Depot... I must be dreaming!" To test, I try flying around the store, and manage to jump rediculously high into the air, and land on top of the shelves in the store (you know, those shelves that are over 20 feet tall). I think I flew around for anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, and then I land on another shelf, and continue the experimenting by shooting electricity out of my hands a la Emperor Palpatine. I hit the wall near me, putting some nice burn marks on it.

My older brother jumps up to the shelf I'm standing on (don't ask me how he can do it, I guess my subconcious assumed, "if he can do it, I guess anyone can"). My brother wants to show me some numbers and items that he found in the store. I realize he's just a dream character, so I decide to just continue the facade (why tell him he's just a figment of my imagination?). I plug a few numbers into a calculator that just appeared in my hand, continuing the facade.

Suddenly, the dream shifts, and I'm sitting in a school bus, and I'm on my way to school. I look out the window, and I recognize buildings that exist in RL on a busy road I drive by on the way to a friend's house. Still lucid, I mentally command the bus to stop and for a girl I know that I had a serious crush on in high school to walk on the bus. Let's call her Emily. Anyways, after about 5 seconds, the bus stops, and Emily walks on to the bus. She walks down the aisle and I call her over to me to sit next to me. She doesn't answer me, but smiles and sits next to me.

I try making a couple moves on her, but either I didn't have enough control/will over the situation, or my mind just wouldn't allow me to do it (moral restraints in a dream?). Anyways, some guy walks up to her, and they start talking. I make another move on her, and this time I try willing the situation to work in my favor. This doesn't work, but I did get a weird response from the two of them, as if they could hear my mental commands. The dream starts fading away after this, and I wake up almost instantly.

I think I had pretty good control of the dream, at least I think I did. I think the reason I managed to pull off an LD was because I had read through your site. This affirmed the concept that being lucid in a dream is actually possible. So, maybe my mind was able to do whatever it does that allows lucidity in a dream, just because I realized it was possible? (Sort of like the Matrix, where Neo couldn't do anything extraordinary until he realized it was possible?). What do you think? Has anyone gone from never having lucidity in a dream, to having complete (or at least near-complete) control over a dream without even doing anything?

I took a look through your guides, and hopefully that LD will be the first of many.

welcome edmaster,

your lucky, iv been working on lucids for a while with nothing but thirty second lucid dreams,

One of my lucid dreams went something like this,

I am in a building i go to alot, and im looking out the window and every thing is dull, almost black and white, and then i just realize im dreaming without doing a RC, and everything gets really vivid and colorful and im like o yea, but then I got over excited and everything faded and went black.

so to answer your question, according to my experiances, yes it is possible

good luck and happy dreams

Well Done

Well you don't need to do any techniques or anything to get an LD. I had my first two just by reading
about LD's on this site. But to get consistent LD's you need to put in some serious effort. I have only
had 7 LD's in one year - so on average once every two months - I am trying to bring that up to one
per month if I can. This site is a gr8 place to learn how to LD - especially tutorials section.
I think that you need to learn a technique like WBTB or MILD/WILD to have a lot of success!

Aren't LD's awesome. I have had two long LD's, 1 medium and four very short ones - they were
all exciting to me - I think it is real interesting how we can wake up in dreams and do stuff

Good Luck,

Namaste

Same here ive never used a technique to get lucid, oh exept RC's but most of the time i just get motivated and think of all the cool stuff to do.
Oh and i ALWAYS attempt them on a friday i just find it alot easier to get lucid knowing that your not going to school the next day , try it.
Our dreams are firsthand creations, rather than residues of waking life. We have the capacity for infinite creativity.

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to see if I can try WILDing this weekend, just to see what will happen. From what I read, I doubt I'll be able to do much more than induce an HL, but we'll see.
