In real time, you are limited to the amount of time you spend in REM. However subjectively, there are some here that have been able to slow down time so that a dream spans entire days or weeks. |

I am new here. I recently had these crazy dreams and I can't get over them. I wanted to learn more about dreaming and wondered upon this site. Lucid dreams are extremely fascinating to me. I have read most of the sites information from the main page, I am still working on it. I do have a question though. How long can a dream last? Not in real time, but in your dream? Also, is there any risk of going into some sort of comma? That is really my only concern and I am sure it isn't an issue, but I would like to know. Thanks for any information you may provide for me. |

I was also wondering if my taking sleeping pills would alter my dreams in anyway. I have been having trouble sleeping lately and though I don't use them everyday, I find myself using them occasionally. |

Varies. Some folk I know take them and have horrible false awakenings where a big bloody cockroach crawls under their bed eating them alive, and others have no ill side effects at all. That's the human body for you, I guess. |

Supposedly there was some guy who stayed in a dream for 90 years |

If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
