Cool

Now that my registration actually worked, I'm here!

I've been trying to at least remember my dreams lately. It's been tough because when my alarm sounds, I usually completely lose any dream I might have been having. But I seem to be improving in the 1-2 weeks I've been trying. At least I'm putting myself in the frame of mind to remember.

I've never lucid dreamed before, but I want to so bad. I have cool powers in my dreams! I showed my sister this site, and that very night she had a dream where she became lucid ::envy::. She just didn't know how to control it.

So anyway, here I am! I tend to get addicted to forums easily, but I'm already addicted to several right now so it shouldn't be too bad here.

Pleased to meet you.

Hey, there. Welcome! I'm glad your registration finally worked out.

I have the exact same problem with my alarm. What works much better (for me) is if I wake up naturally, but I have to go to sleep with the intent of waking up right after/during REM and remembering the dreams. That usually does it.

In any case, I remember dreams much better if I take a nap in the afternoon or if I wake up a few hours early and then take a sort of "nap" in the mornings. Those dreams come out much clearer than when I'm asleep for the night.

You seem focused and excited, and as long as you're living, eating, and breathing lucid dreams, I'm sure it will happen soon!

I just realised I may have had something recently that could qualify as a lucid dream. Only I was on the verge of awakening when it happened.

See I had spent the evening at work, washing dishes. So that night I continued that work in my dreams *cringe*. But at the point where I was half-awake but still able to hold onto the dream, I realised I was sleep-washing-up, and so I started to hurt my disliked coworkers out of annoyance, while throwing dishes on the ground. It was only a moment, however, before I fully awoke and lost the dream. Does that count?

That's a very unusual dream for sure. The sleep-washing-up part confused me. But my question is, We're you aware that you were in a dream even a little bit? If so then yes that would constitute as a lucid dream. Considering that you never had one, doesn't mean that you never will of course. It takes a lot of focuse and consistency in order to get one. It all depends on the person. Some people who has never had one can have pretty quick after they've gained knowledge about it and for some it just takes a little more time. But when you do have one, I tell ya it's going to the best thing ever. So stay focuse. Feel free to ask the DreamGuides any questions because they are extremely informative. Especially the Infamous Cat Doctor Burns. She's the best and Im sure she will be in to greet you very soon.

Good Luck!

Yep it can happen, the first time I read the DV site I had two LDs without having to do anything

Good Luck with getting a Lucid. You will probably have more than your sister in the end!

Well it looks like the verge of sleep seems to be easiest for me to be lucid. Last night I became lucid as I was GOING to sleep! Actually I was up all night on the net, and was still awake when my Dad got up at 5am... heh. I guess maybe my brain waves had decided that since they usually dream at that time of night, they would get stuck into it as soon as I fell asleep.

So anyway, Dad was in the shower when I was drifting off. And I found myself in a strange dream where I was still quite attached to my physical body. It was a little strange, kind of like a sleep paralysis episode (I had one of those earlier this year which was less than pleasant).

I began to dream that my Dad came into my room to tell me off for still being awake, even though there was no logical reason for him to know I was awake, since I had my light off. I found myself paralysed on my bed as he came over and sat on the bed. I couldn't speak at all (during the entire dream). Then I seemed to gain a little dream-mobility and got up. I then realised he wasn't there at all, and thought maybe I was awake now. So I crossed the room to my closed door and listened to my Dad in the shower. It was very realistic at this point. The room was very dark, and as I moved to the door the sound of the shower got louder. It then crossed my mind that I could still be dreaming, so I tried the light switch, which is right next to my door. It was still dark. "Cool", I thought, and tried the finger-through-hand RC. It didn't work. So I don't think I'll be using that one from now on. Unfortunately I was still unable to speak or really do anything although I tried, and I could still half feel myself lying in bed. So I kinda just woke up. I found myself in a very uncomfortable position. Luckily my paralysis was gone, so I rolled over and went back to sleep... no dreams this time.

Interesting stuff. That brings my DILD count to 2, I guess. No other lucids though, even though I've tried WILD a couple of times. I have little luck with staying conscious while my body sleeps (except in unplanned circumstances, such as my sleep paralyses). I have tried to astral project a lot in the past and I achieved it only once, upon which time I snapped right back out of involuntary terror. WILD seems to use a very similar technique. I'll keep trying with it though; ya never know.

We're you aware that you were in a dream even a little bit?[/b]
Yes, I was entirely aware. So I guess it was lucid! Coolies.
