Seems like your having dream recall issues. Start a dreamjournal! It does wonders for recall. And when you wake up in the morning, quickly shut off your alarm, or snooze it... and sit there and trace back your dream, or dreams. When you think you've remembered everything you can, record it. Also vitamin b6 increases vividness... BUT NOT OVER DAILY VALUE!.
As for the being into your dreams; its all practice and self-motivation. Do reality checks all the time. A hourly beep of a watch is okay, but you want to get into the habit of doing it randomly and looking around constantly for crazy ass things. Read the sites many wonderful tutorials and find one that works for you.
