okay, i've posted something like this before, but this is a little different from it. I usually have one of these 2 kinds of dreams: i'm really into the dream and its all clear and i can remember it pretty well in the morning, and i realize i'm dreaming, but don't think to do anything controlling or i wake up and can berely remember any of it and i don't even feel like i was in the dream. do you guys think after reading all the stuff on the site and practising methods, i'll be really into my dreams and i'll be able to remember to do the reality checks and i'll remember to do the things i want to do in the dreams. i dont know why, but some of this stuff doesn't seem like it would work for me, but im hoping it will. i think im going to try the MILD tutorial tonight

Hey, welcome to DV!

With practice and time you'll be able to remember your dreams better as well as control them. LDing is a skill that takes a while to master.

Good luck!

Hi eppy and welcome to DreamViews

Well the good thing is that you have been having lucids, so you're off to a good start. You just seem to be having a mixture of vivid and non vivid lucids which is perfectly normal especially for newbies. After looking at posts on here and a bit more practise you will get better lucids and more control and recall.

Also do you do use a DreamJournal by any chance? Its a great tool for luid dreaming that helps your recall and helps you to recognize dream signs so that you will remember to do RCs in your dreams.

Hey Eppy!,
Seems like your having dream recall issues. Start a dreamjournal! It does wonders for recall. And when you wake up in the morning, quickly shut off your alarm, or snooze it... and sit there and trace back your dream, or dreams. When you think you've remembered everything you can, record it. Also vitamin b6 increases vividness... BUT NOT OVER DAILY VALUE!.

As for the being into your dreams; its all practice and self-motivation. Do reality checks all the time. A hourly beep of a watch is okay, but you want to get into the habit of doing it randomly and looking around constantly for crazy ass things. Read the sites many wonderful tutorials and find one that works for you.

So, dreamjournal, Reality checks, and self motivation... All you need to be a lucid...-er.lol Good luck!

i actually did a dream journal without any knowlede of this kind of stuff when i was first in 3rd or 4th grade and i think i only wrote down dreams with a lot of details which i got A LOT when i was younger. i stopped in like 6th and 7th grade occasionally writing down memorable dreams, and then i started back up in 8th grade and have been doing it ever since. all day i have been doing reality checks, hoping i'll remember to do them in my dreams. last night was the only time i actually "tryed" to have a lucid dream, i've had them other times, but i didn't try to have it at the time, and i didn't realize how i could control it, i had one, about a week ago, if only i would've tryed this stuff before dreaming, mayb i could've controlled it.

dont think about the past too much... you'll waste your future
the first time i went lucid and knew i was and knew i wanted to do something i had a piece of advice i remembered
" look at the backs of your hands"
its an incredibly simple act, but if you can actually do it while lucid ... your of to a good start!
i have had dreams of flying... they end when i go 12 feet up, dreams of running on water... i slow down i start sinking...
i drive my motorbike on the ocean all the time... its great...
all this stuff is wonderfull and great... but for starters all i did was simple...
i looked at the back of my hands
its a conscious thought and your in subconsciouns so as soon as you can transfer the thought <waking> to the dream world... you got it made!

have fun lucid!
<and... dont eat the leaves!>
