Read the names in your telephone book starting with the A's.
That should bore you to sleep in no time.

Ever tried counting? It seriously works. But what works even better (it has an almost hypnotizing effect), is if you try to "see" the numbers either on a whiteboard, or floating, or (even harder) on a sheet of line notebook paper. Seems easy, right? Try it. It also helps you fall into a lucid sleep state.

Um, no, I was talking about keeping your eyes closed. But maybe that will work too....

hi guys,

do i need to adjust mine sleeping hours?

need your advise again..

-i sleep at 12am
-wake up at 6am
-go to bath room then listen the lucid dreamming mp3 ,
take around 6-15 mins.
--go to sleep.
--still can't sleep immediately, i counting 1..2.3..22, imagine floating numbers
also thinking i will be sleeping in 10 mins ..will be sleeping in 5 mins..still awake.
--then i sleep but i think it take long time to get into sleep
--i have a dream, i walked into a graveyard in morning, i feel scare, try to turn back then something catch mine hand, i turn back, nobody there! feel scare, bla bla..very long..sorry
--then mine alarm rings at 9am, i wake up prepare to work..no lucid dream yet.

how come i have dreams so late around 8:30am-9am(i guess)?
how to make them come earlier as i need to prepare to work at 10am.

thanks guys

Are you trying too hard to fall asleep? Cause that can impede your sleeping/lucid dreaming process. If you start feeling like you're sliding into a "bubble" or sleep, try "falling" through your bed. Not literally, obviously, but try making the sensation. Don't think about how long it's been since you tried to go to sleep, or how long you have till you need to wake up, cause it will mess up. I don't see anything wrong with your sleeping patterns, but I know it can differ person-to-person. Have you ever tried lucid dreaming during the day? Lay on your bed and try the floating numbers/falling through bed trick, and it almost feels like you're not even dreaming, but you'll know if you move, or hear a loud or familiar sound, because it will break that fragile state. But anyway, dreaming during the day helps me to attain lucidity at night if I'm having a hard time. Hope this helps.

Hey there nechong

Well, going back to sleep is a hard thing to do some times. I suggest you don't think about going back to sleep. Just lie there and relax, concentrate on your breathing, maybe drink some milk. If you're more relaxed you'll tired more quicker.

hi guys...

now i change mine pattern a bit.
i noticed if i wake up too long, i become sooo awake and can't go to sleep again.

--eat one banana before sleep
--sleep at 1am
--wake up around 7am
--go to bathroom for a peepee and then go back to bed , take only less than 5 mins.and say "i will have lucid dream tonight" few times .
--i can sleep now...
--wake up again around 9am

but the problem is how come i dun induce lucid dream? any other thing i have missed?

thanks

I recently changed my strategies after a month whithout good LDs, maybe they could apply for you:
- First, I always have difficulties to fall asleep when I go to bed, and sometimes when I awake in the middle of the night (I need 1h to 2h...) however, I fall back asleep immediately if I don't get up when my clock rings at 7 to go to work... I can sleep for 1 or 2 hours afters that, smashing the "snooze" button every 9 minutes
- SO what I did is set my clock 1h sooner (6, in my case): It is late enough that I will sleep back with no difficulties, but soon enough that I have some times for LDs before work.
- I don't get up at all: I immediately try to sleep back. I still need a few minutes. During this time, I think about Lucid dreams (not too much or I will stay awake).
- Let your alarm clock on "snooze" mode !
- I will then : sleep, dream a little, be awaken 9 minutes later by my clock, push the snooze button, recall my dream, think about Lucid Dreaming, fall asleep... repeat for 1 hour.
This way I will have around 6 chances in one hour to have a MILD or a DILD, or even a WILD. And LDs in the morning are of better quality than in the night. The only problem is that a LD can not last very long, because you will be interrupted by the clock in a few minutes...

I did this for the past few days, and it work quite well; I had one my best and longest LDs this morning this way.
Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
(I stopped counting after that)

Hey nechong. Maybe the sun is bothering you. Also if you want more time to LD before 9 go to bed at 10! That leaves 11 hours to attempt at lucid dreaming! About your not being able to fall back asleep, if you do the WBTB at night when theres no sun, you might do better. Good luck
