I'm doing a research report on the arguement on Lucid Dreaming. I'm doing the arguement that it does exists but I need some sources of the oppostition of Lucid Dreaming. So any possible websites, names, books, articles etc. will be most appreciated. Even if you've been on this forum for an extended period of time and know of previous topics of this same magnitude, will help.

I don't beleive there exists any arguments against it, you can talk to your friends they might not beleive it but as far as I know, pretty much everyone agrees that it's real, I'd be very interested in the evidence against it, sense LaBarge proved it.

I do not know of any serious arguments against lucid dreaming, at least none that are credible. Most opposition fo lucid dreaming comes from those that associate it with New Age practices or drug use.

There is no opposition to the EXISTENCE of lucid dreaming. It is surely proven.

The only "opposition" to it is...
As seeker said, association with new age practices or drug use
psychological damages as a result to it (for example, things like dieing in your sleep or not getting enough rest, etc.) These are all false...
Some think it is "occult." For example, the old hag (search it on wikipedia) that you get from sleep paralysis is often seen as possession by a devil (this used to stem people to begin to "exorcise" others).

Most arguments against lucid dreaming stem from ignorance about it.

In Laberge's Lucid Dreaming book he mentions a few instances in chapter 3, i think, that there were skeptics at the time which was why they they had a hard time publishing an article about lucid dreaming. It wasn't worth much time. Of course a lot can happen over a period of twenty two years. But since, arguably there are people who believe much that true reality is when you do wake up, there would possibly scientists who would argue the same.
