Is it possible to listen to a song during a lucid dream? If you know a song by heart, can it be played like a soundtrack for the lucid dream you are having? Thanks

Yes, I have had that happen to me several time in LDs. I haven't consciously chosen it though.

In my frist LD I went outside and started to fly, and suddenly all around me the music from Peter Pan "You can Fly" started up. Just like a movie soundtrack.

Sometimes I'll hear songs in dreams that I've never heard before. The words usually don't make sense when I stop to think about them. But my mind interprets some sort of meaning for them. The musical instruments oftentimes sound pretty cool though.

That sounds so awesome! I've always wanted to listen to "Space Oddity" by David Bowie whilst plummeting to Earth

That's actually a good question, I've never had it happen to me though. I wonder what my dream theme tune would be like.

A bit off-topic, perhaps, but attempting to play music in dreams is really fun. If you're a musician of any sort and can find a working dream-instrument (my violin seems to be missing vital parts whenever I want it in my dreams&#33, give it a try! It seems that if I know the song well enough in my waking life, I can play it accurately.

It's a bit strange when DCs start trying to teach you new tunes, though. They never think to offer any sheet music either, the silly things.

Yah, it would be cool to play music. Being the person I am, when I finally get the chance to get good dream control (or even master LDing as a matter of fact) I wanna be a DJ at a nightclub and create some trance music with a crowd, strobe lights and everything. (that's all I can say on this matter lol)

EDIT: I have it in my sig, as you can see, and I was gonna put strobe lighting in it, but I thought of the people who have eye problems, so I took it away )

Yea, I had the Super-Man theme music playing the first time I flew in an LD ( which was also my first LD ). I didn't ask for it, it just came naturally and it was so funny.
