Hey everybody, I'm new here. I first learned about lucid dreams about two years ago, but wasn't successful so I gave up after a couple of months. I've had three LDs in my life, and they were intriguing enough for me to want to continue. My problem has always been my lack of focus though; I never had a reason WHY I wanted to lucid dream.

Recently though, I've been between jobs and have had a lot of free time. I started a dream journal, and the next day, I stumbled upon an awesome quote:
"he asks me if i'm awake in my dreams. i tell him that i am sometimes.

'and what do you do?'

but i am unsure. he presses.

i tell him i try to act; try to control; that i try to consciously interact with people; but that it's hard; so mostly i just observe.

he asks if i ever touch them,

and i say that i guess so.

he tells me that next time i should touch those i meet in my dreams and say to them 'awake! awaken!' "

So, Thats my new motivation. I want to find people in my dream, and ask them if I am a part of their dream, or they of mine. Perhaps I will be somebody's dream guide, since I can't seem to find mine.

I'll let you know <strike>if</strike> WHEN I have my next lucid dream.

Never stop looking for your DG.

And WTF?

You can't be somebody else's dream guide. A DG is part of your own sub C or is your sub C.

Have you read this ?

Hey Spassalptraume!

You can be whatever or whoever you want in your dreams.
You can do whatever you want in your dreams.

Hope you can get into LD's again. Motivation really is a big part. Good luck!

Developer: If I meet someone in my dream, they're a part of my subconscious, not an actual person; I realize I wouldn't actually be someone else's DG.

A dream guide is a character you meet in a dream that helps you figure out what you're doing. Usually a recurring character, I think? Don't trust me though, I'm just a newbie too.
