Yet another n00bie introduction thread!

I'll keep it relatively short and sweet: I must admit that the concept of lucid dreaming seems to be a contradiction, and I am usually a logical and objective person. However, I do try to keep an open mind and therefore I shall give it a shot.

What would be VERY helpful for me is if someone could articulate how to get started developing dream recall. How did you do it, in other words? I understand everyone's method is different, but getting an idea of methods that have worked for other people may allow me to better develop my own.

Thanks, and I look forward to learning more about lucid dreaming.

      Hey there Polaris

Well there's a Tutorials Section which has all the key information that you need. It also has a Quick Start Guide which tells you all the basic needs.

To improve your dream recall you will need a Dream Journal, it is like a Lucid Dreamer's bible, if you record your dreams in this by waking up and writing what ever thought comes into mind about what you just dreamt then you will gain better control. It doesn't have to be the events or locations of the dream, it can also be what your emotion is. Dream Journals don't just improve your dream recall, they also help you recognise your dream signs too.

You say you find Lucid Dreaming contradicting, do you mean that you don't believe in it? Because there's a hell of a lot of members that would beg to differ.

Well good luck and have fun.

People tend to think lucid dreaming is "new age" or whatever, but having a lucid dream is simply knowing you're dreaming. That's it. I'm sure you've even had a lucid dream at some point in your life, even if it was only for a few seconds, and maybe you just didn't remember it. Dream recall is very important when learning about LDing, because what's the point of having a lucid dream if you don't remember it when you wake up, right?

Anyway, welcome to the forum. Good luck and have fun!

Dream recall I think is not that necessary to do a WILD, but it would be good to have since you'll want to remember it. (don't you want to tell the wrold about your LD? ) but seriously, start keeping a dream journal. In the morning, take about 4 minutes, lay in bed and let your mind wander, put away your anxieties of the day, and let yourself get pulled back to your dreams. If you rmember even 1 part, sometimes it all can come back in a sort of waterfall, and fit together like a puzzle.

On the site theress helpful tutorials you can read, but everyone has their own way for this.

      Good luck
