Hey everyone. I am recently getting into lucid dreaming after writing about Descartes' 1st meditation on 1st philosophy about whether it is ever possible to know if you are asleep or awake. The topic of lucid dreaming came up in class so I decided to do some research about it. i happened to stumble upon this place and it has been really helpful. The first time I heard about lucid dreaming last summer, I was lucky enough to become lucid that very night after reading it. Its kind of funny because as soon as i realized i was dreaming, I stripped off all of my clothes, jumped out of the window and fell many stories to the ground. I got up unharmed and strutted down the busy city street bare naked as happy as a lark.

I have had a couple lucid dreams years back without really knowing much about them also. My very first one was of me in a desert, and Iwas trying to soooo hard to fly. I would get a good running start, jump, maybe float for a bit and land right on my face....very frustrating.

Last summer I tried to get serious about it, ended up buying a DJ and wrote one entry. After reading some of the posts, and realizing just how much is possible through LDs, I am going to put in some serious effort this time.

I have also experienced SP with HS (voices) which was frightening when it happened. I remember trying to get up and not being able to, and thought I was just being lazy or something, and then counting in my head "1, 2, 3 GET UP!" which didnt work. Needless to say i eventually got up. It happened twice in one week over my winter vacation this year and I thought something was going wrong with my body, but I was able to put my mind at ease after reading about it here.

Anyway, im not sure if this has ever come up, but has anyone experienced interesting dreams with the aid of a TV of Music? I often fall asleep in front of the TV and like to listen to music (usually with lyrics) as I fall asleep. Once I woke up to the Mad TV and realized that the dialogue was similar to what was happening in my dream. through the magnificent invention of tivo, i was able to rewind and see just how much of my dream was being dictated by the comedy central network. And i could remember things vaguely from like ten minutes prior to my waking. I think it is so crazy how things seem to happen so fluidly in a dream with an outside source dictating the events... anyway this is dragging on i feel and i should be writing my philosophy paper. thanks in advance for your input!

Welcome, and yes, when I was a teenager, I would typically wake up to my clock radio playing softly.
If I overslept, I'd have crazy dreams that revolved around strange interpretations of what was said on eg. the news, or in music.

      Good luck with the DJ
