Thanks for the warm welcome, I don't have any specific questions for now, but I'm sure I will in the future.
About the remdreamer.
I'm very positive about it of course, since it helps me getting LD's. But it's not like you put on the mask and you get LD's. There's still a lot of effort you have to put in.
1 First you need to find the right sensitivity, so that it does go off during rem, but doesn't go off at other times. This is pretty easy if you follow the instructions, takes a few nights, but afterwards you never have to change it again. (for me a sensitivity of six works, so it's allways on that sensitivity)
2 Then you need to find the correct stimulus, one that is annoying enough to make it into your dreams, but not so annoying as to wake you up. This is a bit harder, takes more time. But there are a lot of custom settings to help you find the right stimulus. I use a brightness of three, two flashes per second, for six seconds, no beeps. This hardly ever wakes me up, but makes it through to my dream in most cases.
3 Then you need to recognise the stimulus. Most times your mind incorporates the stimulus into your dream. You see headlights, reflections, nuclear war, photo's with flash, lightning, any other light phenomenon. So you need to make light phenomena your dreamsign. (the advantage is that the light is very intrusive in your dream, so easy to recognize).
4 A good way to learn to recognize it is by using the dreamalarm (another setting), it wakes you up two minutes after the stimulus. So you wake up during your dream (good for dream recall), just a little time after the stimulus. This is good to train step 2 and 3.
This is about how far I am at using it, I suppose after a while I'll not use the alarm, so I can continu my LD when I get one. I look at it as 'training wheels'.
By the way, I don't sleep with the mask all night, I put it on when I awaken early and can sleep in late (usually in weekends, I don't use it during the week because of my job.)
The mask is pretty comfortable to sleep with, the shipping takes longer than they say it does, the thing that makes the beeping sound (don't know what it's called in English, oh hang on, it's 'speaker'right?) is already damaged in mine, so I'm not sure about the quality. But it is a good product in my opinion, it definitely works for me.
Hope this helps you.
Cheers
