i know some basics abt lucid drwaming...tried it with moderate success though 5-6 months back...
however last weekend found myself get into a discussion with a friend abt LD...
and in the following week i changed my sleeping pattern (going into office early )...and it seems I have started getting lucid again (or is it?)

      My dream is as follows:

I am in some sort of an outdoor party...in a backyard....with tables, people all around.....there is a band playing some music....
people dancing, eating, drinking....even though I am in the party, I get the feeling of an outsider.....
probably I have come in late, or it seems more like I am anticipating something to happen.....
there is a gated fence in front of me and a person appears out of nowhere and points towards me.....
and says something like I am here to kill you (do not remember exact words though)....
it seems evrything comes to a halt and all people are staring at me.....then the person appears to sprinkle something in the air and vanishes...
then I look around and evrything, evryone has vanished and I am standing alone.....evrywhere there is smoke.....
then i say to myself the only way out of here is to get out of the front door...and I start running...i somehow manage to get out of the door....
and then i cross the road and then find myself in a field with crops around waist high....i start running....after running i just stop to look around....
I stare behind for a second and then from the crops millions of people clad in armour stand up....it is like I am surrounded by en entire army....

at this point of time i think I woke up(i guess!!! dunno whether a false awakening)....
then i told myself that this cant be possible(in dream or real life i dunno)...it is just a dream...
and this is your dream....who are these people....go and question them.....then I found myself back in the dream....
and I asked the nearest person who are you? and immediately evrybody vanished....

      i dont remember anything afterwards.....

I want to know whether this was lucid dreaming whereby I had a false awakening however still managed to get thru it and then conquer my fears?
or is it that I woke up and then made my mind believe that this happened.....i am confused because when I told myself that u need to go back in the dream...
i felt that I had woken up but just wanted to continue my dream to see who these people are and what are they doing in my dream???

Before I answer I would like to ask.

Do you have any feelings of uncertainty at your workplace or school/university?

Not necessarily negative although that could be. It could also be positive such as anticipation of a new promotion or raise perhaps? Upcoming exam?

      Any concerns about work/school?

Starting a new job or school? Moving to a new location?

As far as your dream it does sound like you were maybe mildly lucid and with a possible false awakening. Look for recurring themes with your dreams and record them.

Lucid dreaming has different levels of awareness. You will definitely know if you have a full blown LD. Once you have done that (and you will if dedicated) then it becomes easier to spot the less lucid (yet still lucid) dream experience.

In the process of realizing the dream, abandon all feeling of fear; And, if the dream be of fire, transform the fire into water, the antidote of fire. And if the dream be of minute objects, transform them into large objects; Or if the dream be of large objects, transform them into small objects: Thereby one comprehendeth the nature of dimensions.
And if the dream be of a single thing, transform it into many things; Or if the dream be of many things, transform them into a single thing. - Tibet

Yeah I am contemplating whether to switch from my current job....Though I am happy with my current work, I have some other expectations which cannot be met with my current company....however the indecisiveness is because I don’t know whether these things would be met even if I make the switch…

btw, I am really amazed that my dream conveyed the above!!!

      Thanks

The content of your dreams definitely convey your feelings or thoughts. Stress is also a factor that can act as a catalyst.

In so far regarding the dream. It seems like you had a moment of lucidity. Lucidity is whenever you realize that you are dreaming. Anything beyond that has to deal with lucid dream control etc. Welcome to the forums.

I think you did have a bit of lucidity in the mix of your dreams. Anyway, welcome to the forum.
