• Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

      Cool

      I have been able to remember just about every dream I've had for at least a few months....some of them have been predictive of events that came true soon after I dreamed them. But....not a single one of them has been lucid. Every few years or so I have a spontaneous lucid, so I know it's possible...but any suggestions? I've tried WILD, various herbs, essential oils, and mp3s, but still nothing. Any tips to improve these methods? Weird methods that aren't commonly talked about that might help? Tips in general? Anyone wanna be my buddy ?

      Don't try WILDing for a start , it's just a hard technique to master, some can do it the first night they try but most can hardly ever do it. It just takes a lot of practise to do. I'd recommend that you do the WBTB method and then use a MILD.

      Have you checked out the Tutorials by any chance?

      I&#39;ve seen some of them and read a few books here and there...read some articles on erinpavlina.com...some other random stuff. I just know I must be missing something huge and that it might take a while for everything to "click"--but, as soon as it does I&#39;m sure it will always be with me; that&#39;s how I tend to learn things: by epiphany, conscious or subconscious.

      You dream numerous times every night, and you CAN become lucid in every single one. Put that into your subconcious and smoke it&#33; (well, you know what I mean )

      Try and find a personal dreamsign - something you see often in dreams, but just never seem to associate with dreams. Could be a person, thing, place, or event. If you can do that, then it&#39;s just a matter of training yourself to question your reality anytime you coma cross this dreamsign.

      hey, well i agree with NeAvo, WILDing is hard, i know because i&#39;ve tried it myself however thats only my opinion, but don&#39;t let it stop you doing what you want, just experiment, try WILDing if you wish, you&#39;ll eventually find something that works, don&#39;t give up and keep searching, good luck

      PS- i learnt more about lucid dreaming by listining to a podcast erin pavlina&#39;s husband steve did, that was the first bit of knowledge i learnt about lucid dreaming, small world eh

      It is indeed a small world...lol. It&#39;s odd--I must ask myself what is almost every few hours every day if I am dreaming, but when I am dreaming, this thought never occurs to me...yet I can vividly remember nearly everything that happened in the morning. I did recently have one dream that was near lucid...I ad the vague notion that I was dreaming, and I felt able to control some elements but not others...and so I did.

      One thing I don&#39;t know if I mentioned is that my dreams have a habit of coming true...is that in any way relevant to anything?

      Are you doing reality checks, or just asking yourself if you&#39;re dreaming? I find it essential to do a lot of reality checking (several times every hour) , so that it gets to the point that you&#39;re checking to see if you&#39;re dreaming all the time out of reflex. Once this becomes habit, it will slowly start integrating into your dreams as well. Combine this with the method of your choice (there are many in the tutorials forum alone, try them until you find one that works for you) , and you should get a lucid dream very soon.

      Don&#39;t expect to have an LD right off the bat. For some people it takes a while. These guys already gave some great advice, so I&#39;m not going to reiterate. But remember, keep trying, and you will get lucid. Good Luck&#33;

      Thanks for all your advice&#33; What is the best way to do a reality check...I&#39;m stumped on that one because my reality checks often fail when I&#39;m dreaming.

      The other night I could have sworn I was awake, and so (in my dream) I wrote down all the details of the dream I thought I&#39;d just woken up from...and then I ACTUALLY woke up and lost them all...bummer.)

      My favorite reality check is number 11 on that list I linked to, the breathing test, where you close our mouth, pinch your nose shut, and try to breathe, and if you can still breathe, you know you&#39;re dreaming. This one works very well for most people, and the only way I&#39;ve ever known it to not work is when for some reason, you can&#39;t do it right, and that in itself is a sign that you&#39;re dreaming.

      What seems to be the second most popular and reliable is the first check on that list, the clock test, where you look at a clock (preferably digital) , look away, then look back. If what it shows you doesn&#39;t make sense, or it changes unusually between the two times you look at it, then you know you&#39;re dreaming.

      Those two checks, or possibly even only one (I only ever use the breathing test) should work pretty well. If you want to try more, I also suggest seeing if light switches work, looking at your hands to see if they look normal and have the right number of fingers, or trying to stick one of your fingers through your hand, as all are popular and fairly reliable reality checks.
