Hey guys, im new to the forum, and this lucid dreaming topic is VERY interesting. Ive read the whole section on how to get lucid dreams, but im a little bit confused. What should I try to do first? Write in a journal? Reality check? And do you wake up in the middle of the night after each dream?

Thanks in advance I would really like to learn how to do this.

      Welcome to Dream Views Sportfan.

Usually the first step to lucid dreaming is working on dream recall which involves a dream journal. Keep it beside your bed so you won't have to get up and look for it during the night.
You can also start reality checking, ask yourself several times a day if you're dreaming and perform a reality check just to find out if you're dreaming or not.
Some people have to wake up during the night to recall dreams at first.
If you're having trouble recalling perhaps suggest to yourself and believe that you'll remember your most important dream. Eventually suggest to yourself that you'll remember more dreams as your recall improves.
If that doesn't work set your alarm to wake you up about every 90 minutes or so (I think it's 90 min... it's late and kind of tired so forgive me if I'm wrong about that). Wake up, quickly jot down any recollections or feelings lingering from your dreams and then go back to sleep.

That's about all I can give you right now.
Someone else will come along and correct or add valuable info to my batch of yappery soon enough.

Welcome agian and I hope at least one of those suggestions will help you get some lucidity.

Thanks very much for the warm welcome and advice! I dont remember my dreams at all (thats not a good start), but doesnt waking up every 90 min disturb your sleep?

      Thanks
