      Hi i am new here.

Ok well now that is out of the way i can say this. I had the weridest dream i will more likely never have again! Ok i was in the south pole in this tower, and there was a monster outside trying to get in. Every time it broke the windows the people in the room would freeze to death. Yeah, the tower double as a hotel/shopping mall/ milatry base. Would this be descrided as a nightmare or just a freaky dream.. Oh yeah the monster was this werid demon dragon thing. Ok bye!

It depends... Were you scared? I've had a couple dreams that should've frightened me (like the big chattering skulls hanging in the basement), but didn't for some reason or another. If you were scared, I'd consider it a nightmare. If not, then it's just a freaky dream. That's my opinion, at least.

      Hi there Friedpickle.

That is quite the strange dream. I'd classify it as freaky. Only you can truly deem if it was a nightmare or not. If you have a lot of such dreams maybe you should think about starting a journal... if you don't have one yet. And peruse some of the journals on this site. They're excellent pre bedtime reading.

Are you going to attempt lucid dreaming?

      Hahaha.

Try manifesting a giant fly swatter to squash the spider. Imagine the massive bug splat that would make, spider guts everywhere.

Hi everyone. First post here. Don't really know why I'm here. I guess to get in touch with people who actually like discussing dreams, and hold some importance to them. The thing is with me is that I am an excessive dreamer. I have several dreams during the course of my sleep. I've dreamt so much for so long that I'm pretty much desensitized to them. For example, people say that the common person would be compelled to awaken when they dream that they're about to die or get killed. Your body wakes you up with the actually belief of danger. Not me. I've had such a mulitude of dreams where I've died(shot, stabbed, drowned, commited suicide, apocalyptic situation) that I don't wake from the dream. This has been the case for a long time. All that happens, when I get shot in the stomach for example, is that I go through some after-death transition but remaining in dream. I become a ghost of sorts, or enter a different dream situation, or move into a seperate dream-scape dimension, and with levels of consciousness varing from awareness to absolute unawareness.

I guess my quest is to find people who experience, or/and have for a long time, experienced what I have.

So I guess one question to ask is:

Has anyone here lost the fear of falling in dreams so much so that you purposely jump off a very high altitude when you encounter one in the dream?

If you haven't then I suggest you do. It's really fun. It's not a reflection of suicide. It's the realization and awareness of the dream-state and knowing that you won't die if you jump.

Anyway, nice to meet you guys.

I've never done this in a non lucid dream, but in lucid dreams, this is one of my favorite things to do. This was actually one of the first things I tried in a lucid dream, when I was about seven, since I don't usually have too much dream control, and I figured it was the next best thing after flying(which I still haven't learned to do). Really high altitudes aren't very common in my dreams, so I don't think I've ever jumped off anything higher than about a hundred feet, but jumping from a truly high altitude is definitely on my list of things to do eventually.
