and was wondering if you had any tips for dream recollection
I've had lucid dreams before, although I'm not sure exactly what category you would put them in, but anyways

I've tried to wrok on dream recollection before, just because I enjoyed my dreams
now I have motivation and would really like to try, and if anyone has advice for concentrating that'd be appreciated
I have massive ADD problems
I'm not quite sure where I was going with this thread after this
I'm ashamed of what I did for a klondike bar...

Welcome to DV!! I suggest a [topic="topic=7236"]dream journal.[/topic]Most everyone here keeps one, either online or at home. Do [topic="topic=4935"]reality checks[/topic]too. Try reading most of the tutorials if you have questions, and feel free to ask around. Hope this helps!

WELCOME!!!
Does your ADD issue or medication for ADD cause any problems with sleeping?

When you wake up and remember your dreams , write them down. Begin a dream journal.

I haven't started a dream journal, but I had done similar things, where if I remembered a small part, I'd get paper and write things down
I plan on starting one
and my ADD medications shouldn't affect my dreams, but I don't take them long enough most of the time
the ADD is really just focusing since I had heard of some people eventually being able to go directly into lucid dreams

there was something else one of you mentioned...

reality checks
actually
I've been doing that sorta thing previously without knowing it
when I was little I started a sort of thing like that, to make sure I wasn't sleeping and also, just to become more aware of my surroundings
my ADD helps me in that aspect somewhat
I'm ashamed of what I did for a klondike bar...

I consider my ADD somewhat of an advantage, actually.

how does the ADD help?
I've been trying to supress my ADD so, I'm wondering if I should encourage other parts of my ADDness

ADD can be an INCREDIBLE advantage - most people with ADD (myself included) find it easy to hyperfocus. It's a state of concentration above that of everyday focusing. I think some people call it being "in the zone". It can be used to construct and solve thought problems, solve puzzles, visualize things, or simply concentrate harder. I also find that my "inner voice" throws a lot of ideas at me, which is really handy when I'm designing circuits. However, the few benefits of ADD are miniscule compared to the problems it can cause if it is not diagnosed or treated.

The medication could easily be a problem - the active ingredients in common ADD medications are usually stimulants. For example, Adderall uses amphetamines, and Ritalin uses methylphenidate. If you take the medication too late into the day, it will interfere with your sleep.

hmm
I can sorta get into a state where my vision gets really really really bright, but it doesn't hurt my eyes
I'm not sure about getting into the zone though... I could probably use help on that
I also like my inner voice
I argue with myself to solve problems
I'm currently trying welbutrin
an anti-depressant
I should find someone else with ADD to help me some I guess
I'm ashamed of what I did for a klondike bar...

Welcom aborad!!! Ok i can't spell. Ok now that is over with... i think a dream journal is good idea. But in it write down what you did before you went to sleep. That way you can see what could of affected your dream!
My mind is bigger then the world, explains why i lost my self...

Goals:

1.)Have a LD
2.)Have a conversation with a DC
3.)Fly around the world (or at least until i get bored)
4.)Successfully compelete dream recall traing (with at least 10 or more dreams)

Well, I haven't heard of Welbutrin before, so I can't say what it will do to your sleeping habits. When you're in the zone, it's like...well, I guess it depends on what you're doing. If you're playing a game, it's focusing yourself so much that everything becomes action/reaction. I personally have little to no thought in the form of words, and my inner voice is silent. It's different for solving problems, but the basic concept is the same: you are sort of isolated from extraneous sensory information, so it's only you and what you're thinking about. Come to think of it, this could probably be really handy for LDs.

Is the dizziness just listed under the side effects of the medication? The same thing is listed for Adderall (in addition to drowsiness), but it is a stimulant nonetheless and has kept me up before.

nope, I specifically asked to get a non-stimulant last time, since all stimulants that I seem to take end up making me suicidal
there shouldn't be a problem with sleep
I'll test it tonight I suppose
