Hey there, welcome
It's fairly normal to have dry spells of recall or lucidity from time to time.
There's no magic pill which guarantees dream recall, but you might find that some work for you in your case.
Safe(ish) Ones I've heard of : (safe in my opinion that is)
- Melatonin
- B6
- Mint tea before bed
If you want to avoid those, other tricks include:
- WBTB (Wake back to bed). The idea here is to sleep for 5 or 6 hours, and then wake up (with an alarm perhaps). Get up and walk around a bit. Some people find that something mentally challenging helps too.
Then go back to sleep.
You'll find that most of your sleep will then involve dreams, and will be easier to remember.
- Nap during the day. A natural circadian rhythm results in daytime naps often being dreams. And easier to remember too.
- When you wake up, don't move a muscle. Keep still, because your physical sensations and mood help to collect the dream fragments. Then put them together slowly, as you already know how. Then get up and write it down while it's fresh.
Hope that helps?
