      Talking Introducing: myself.

      Hi.

I've read this forum for a while and I really enjoy it. It has good information and openminded people.

The last year or so I've grown increasingly interested in consciousness. I'm a psychology student and started my studies with enthusiasm, but lately I find a traditional psychological approach to consciousness limiting.

I have eaten mushrooms and acid. I wanted to discover my mind and its potential. I wrote an essay on the phenomenological similarities between psychedelic experiences and mystical experiences.

Subjectivity of perception is something I think a great deal about.

Then I discovered lucid dreaming, and started reading. I started recording my dreams. I have found that my dream recall has dramatically increased over the past few days, both in detail and quantity. This is motivating, and even if I won't have a lucid dream for years, I will keep trying. The mere information I've gathered from my dream journal so far has already given me helpful insights in my own psyche. It's rewarding already.

Welcome to DreamViews! That's great that you are so intent on lucid dreaming, it really is a wonderful experience. What exactly do the mushrooms and acid do though? I love your avatar.

Welcome to the forum. I hope that you stick around. Have you considered being adopted to aid your lucid dreaming?

Thanks. What mushrooms and acid do... I'll keep it short.

The effects of psychedelic drugs vary. They're dependent on your own state of mind (expectations, experience, childhood, more recent past etc.), the environment (don't take acid in a traffic jam unless you want to experience hell), and the dosage.

I like the deep sea diving analogy: if you're well-prepared, experienced, and have a general idea of what to expect, there is a reduced chance of anything going wrong and you will discover a beautiful new world.

Of course the kind of psychedelic matters as well, but that's enough on that topic. Visit www.erowid.org for details and literature, it's a good site for information on psychoactives.

I hadn't, until you asked. Now I wanna be adopted. I've only just started improving my dream recall though. I'm completely new to this.
