Question Could this be a Dream Guide?

I was lucid in this dream, although I'm not sure if I was lucid before 'he' came or maybe I realized I was lucid when I first noticed him...?

Anyways I believe I was sitting in my elementary school gym with two younger guys, possibly for babysitting purposes. All the lights were out, save for one in the middle and we were waiting...waiting for something. I glanced over to my left and saw 'him' standing between the younger two, where it was empty only seconds before. He seemed to carry with him a sort of presence, some light around him as well. Physically he appeared human, and I thought he was male but with either I couldn't really be too sure. He was wearing long brown robes similar as in the B.C. era yet they could also pass as something incredibly futuristic. In age he looked 20 or so, yet with the vast wiseness I sensed from him the best way to describe him would be... well, timeless.

I tried to turn my head to look at him straight on but I couldn't move my head past a certain point, it was stuck. I said to him, "Sorry but I can't seem to move my head further to look at you" (something like that). Next the two younger guys got up and ran to the light in the center and I along with them, forgetting the man behind me. As I reached the light I realized I had full mobility throughout my body.

It's probably too early to tell if he's a dream guide, based off one dream alone, but does he sound like he could be one?

They come in all shapes ans sizes but he sounds very interesting.
Next time you're lucid shout for him, or if that doesn't work find a closed door then call him and open the door. Let us know how it goes.

Hey I have a question, the answer seems like it would be pretty obvious but, what exactly is a "Dream Guide"?

I've looked through the entire site but I can only find select forum members with a 'dream guide' tag/status.

Like I said, it sounds pretty self explanatory but what exactly makes a dream guide unique? Does he/she/it reoccur in your dreams? Interact with you or warp your dreams in some way?

Your dream sounded pretty interesting, it sparked my curiosity. Could someone perhaps explain their own dream guide? Do they/it have a unique personality or desires to accomplish something but needs your help? I assume, if my other assumptions are somewhat correct our own minds create these figured based on our own experiences/personalities, no?

Thanks, and good luck with that.

      Hi, sekurit

My dream guide is a representation of my subconscious mind, that's all. I've only seen her once. My dream guide seems androgynous, don't ask me why, maybe because I am both analytical and artistic or something, but her name was Julie in the one dream in which I've seen her.

She was wearing blue and that's supposed to be a signal that it's your dream guide.

Hmm, the part with your head being stuck reminds me of my own very similar experiences and it always seems to happen when I do a WILD. It's like "the dream" knows that I want to leave that scenario and tries to stop me.

About the dream guides, I believe that they are no differen't from any other DC, but that doesn't mean that they can't be "special", the way they are believed to be (wise, aware, etc.). So in my opinion there's no reason that he couldn't have been a dream guide. Try to meet him again and find out what he really is. You have nothing to lose no matter what he claims to be.

There have been huge and at some times heated discusions before on whether or not dream guides "really exist" or are "just DC's". No one can prove it one way or the other, and as the dream realm is so subjective, by insisting its not possible it just make it harder for anyone who wants to try. If you meet someone in your dreams and they are helpful, then it make no difference what you call them.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll definately be sure to look for him next time I go lucid.

And Vortex, you make a good point there, I guess anyone in your dream could be called a "Dream Guide" if you want. I just had this idea for some reason that everyone was assigned some mystic, all knowing being which would guide you through your dreams. It does sound pretty appealing but I guess either way works.
