Greetings and Salutations, I have been viewing this forum for about a month now and I promised myself that I would post as soon as I had a lucid dream. So here I am, posting a quick greeting and a concern. My concern is when I had my first lucid dream last night, that I had too much control of it for my first time as well as being constrained to set areas of the dream and not being able to leave the area. Not only that, I didnt use any signs at all for the dream and that I only got all the signs after I actually became lucid. I also feel like I had a little bit to much control as in my first shot I didnt have to focus on anything to keep myself in the dream despite how excited I was and I just felt like I could do anything (I did have some trouble flying however I managed to kinda glide after I managed to do the lucid task of the month in which I will explain on the thread) I might make a Dream Journal to tell you exactly what I did but not even I can believe I could do that much (I thought I would basically wake up as soon as I became lucid for my first time) Anyway, pleased to meet you and I hope I can get to know most of you sometime during my stay on these boards.

well don't be worried about it the control is always there. when you are lucid, your dreaming midn will create anything your lucid mind wants to. some people have problems with dream control because they are too bonded to reality, and can't break the laws of physics in their dreams.. my first lucid was also nice, I was competely locked into the dream aswell about not being able to leave the area, I think that's dream drunkenness. it's a phenomenom that happens when your dreaming mind has some problems to create exactly what your lucid mind wants it to. this may happen becausw you are too active in your dream: dreams should be moe watched than played. daydreaming can really help you with dream drunkenness, but imaine your dream body as you do it good luck and stay lucid -------------- edit: 100th post YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

Welcome to the forum. We're all very pleased to have you with us. I certainly hope that you will have a good time learning and helping others learn how to lucid dream. Control of your dreams also comes from experience. You must learn little by little each time you dream....It's like riding a bike. You'll get the hang of it.

If you become locked in a particular area of a dream, try to think of some out of the ordinary way to escape it, it's like pulling a fast one on your dreaming mind, surprise it and sometimes you can break free. Oh, and welcome to Dream Views, LokisWail. Hope to see you around.

Too much control? That's crazy talk! Really, I wouldn't concern yourself with too much control. My very first LD was one in which I had plenty of control and the mental faculties (and preparedness) to perform a number of experiments as well. My next few were less so. You'll find the range of control and lucidity to be quite varied and naturally so. Just be happy that your first experience gave you a good taste of the possibilities involved in lucid dreaming.
