Thread: did i just have a lucid dream?

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum as well as lucid dreaming. Something kind of wierd happened when I took a nap just now (I was browsing these forums before I took a nap) and I just registered because I had to ask if what I experienced was a lucid dream.

So i was dreaming and then I guess it transformed into another dream, but the feeling in the second dream was kind of different. I felt awake, as though it were only a day dream. I remember thinking to myself, "What if this is a lucid dream, I could start controlling it", but then I thought "nah, I'm still awake, I'm just day dreaming like I always do" and sort of rolled over and opened my eyes. Then I layed there thinking of whther or not it was a dream or day dream and I remember it so well, the sounds, the visuals, it was so real and vivid, it couldn't have been a normal day dream.

So my question is, is what I experienced a lucid dream?

Day dreams are usually just imaginatory, as in, no actually sights and sounds, just thoughts of them. If you were having a dream then you were definately asleep.

If you said 'no, I'm not dreaming' then it wasn't quiet a lucid. Next time do a reality check, just asking yourself will never work. I like looking at my hands to check, they are usually blurry and not really well defined (like you were looking at them underwater.)

Next time, even if you're not entirely sure you are dreaming, simply believe that you are and like ninja said, do a reality check. Find one that you like and put it to use.

I like the nose check and the finger through the hand thing. They ususally work.
