Lucid or dreaming that im lucid?

Ok, so i discovered this site on Sunday and then didn't try anything sunday night, I used to have terrible dream recall (I'd remember one every 3 months or so) so I decided to do a dream journal like a tutorial said.

      Monday night - no success
Tuesday night - Remembered one dream and remembered quite a bit
      Wednesday night (yesterday) :

Heres the dream im asking about. It started off (from what i can remember) with me and two people i know, which i havent seen for about 2 years (which is kind of strange) and we were were playing a game. I think i was just watching and i remember saying that the screen was too small and we should go upstairs to play it in my room.

We went upstairs and there were people working on computers, about 20 of them in suits, (my room was larger) also on my bed were two other people i know from school and one of them said something to me which i dont remember. Then all of a sudden i remember realizing it was a dream, I was like "hey this is a dream" and i got really excited and started telling people it was a dream, then i remember the dream fading and I tried to focus on my hands then thats when it ended, or rather all i can remember.

I didnt try any techiniques like WILD or anything It just happened and when i woke up it didn't seem real. Do you think I was lucid or dreaming that I was lucid?

Well... if you were having a lucid dream you would know, I think. You'd remember actually feeling like you were conscious.

Well, I do remember feeling different when i "realized" it was a dream, but maybe if it was longer I would be able to tell if i was lucid. Do you, or anyone else have any tips on how to keep the dream going?

it was a Dild, if you didn't do a WILD. Also, if it doesn't feel like you're awake, then it's probably not really lucid. People get the feelings mixed up. Some people will realize they're dreaming, but instead of being able to fully control their actions, it's more like their subconcious has a bit more control. so you subconcious will tell your dream body what to do and it does it rather than you just being fully in your dream body and controlling your actions directly. does that make sense? cause it's kind of hard to explain. I just think, if, in the dream, you feel fully aware and feel just as awake as you do right now reading this, (and of course you know you're dreaming) then you're lucid, if not you might be lucid, but it's just not a very high level of lucidity.

rubbing your hands together is the best way to stabalize the dream and keep it going (for me at least, and a lot of other people) and dream spinning works too but if you're a beginner it might be wake you up or cause you to lose lucidity. You can also just yell in your dream. sometimes i just have to start yelling to everyone "I'm dreaming! this is a dream!" not really saying it to the DCs but to myself.
