      Welcome to the forum

What you must remember is that lucid dreaming techniques are different for everyone, so the advice you get might not work for you.

However the best techniques which usually always work for newbies are the WBTB---Wake Back To Bed

      and the

      MILD---Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams

Getting up an hour early, staying awake for 30-60 minutes reading about lucid dreaming, doing MILD briefly, then taking a morning nap is an effective way to induce lucid dreams.

So what happens when entering lucid do you go through a spiral vortex or do you start to float off from your body or does it just happen instantly ??

Entering lucid does nothing different except that you know you are dreaming. Your clarity may increase, but sometimes you have to manually do that in your dream. Sometimes though, if you are WILDing you may try to "pull" your dream body from your real body, in which case you will see yourself sleeping or something weird like that. Then it should hit you that you're dreaming, hence becoming lucid.

not always. Ive onlyfound some wilds and some sp scare me. but i had those before joining... if i told you some werent scary ide be lieing but as long as you know they cant hurt you you can fly right through anything scary without a extra heartbeat. But as (i hope i give right credit) Clarity? When she has a freaky sp says to herself "Im protected by pure white light" i havent got to try it but im sure it does help. Happy dreaming

Yep.. you gave credit right.. thanks!

Before each WILD attempt, I mentally repeat the following protection mantra: "My mind, my body, my soul and my spirit are protected by pure white light. May only those of pure white light come near me, may only those of pure white light touch me."

I do realize that some feel that there is nothing that can harm you astrally but this mantra brings me comfort.. and once simply repeating mentally the words, "I am protected by pure white light" did cause my one and only astral "attack" to stop.
