Hey all. I’m new here. Thought first of all I would post my experiences with dreaming so maybe I could have some insight.
I guess the earliest dreams i remember where the scary ones when I was young. Had the usual ones with monsters and some kind of cool ones when i was at the wheel of a car. After a while I started to come aware when I was having these nightmares and could quickly wake myself up before anything really scary happened. To do so i kind of just screw my eyes up and this woke me up. This trick did memorably fail once when i awoke into what turned out to be another nightmare involving a jack-in-the-box in my bedroom.
I also had, and still do to a lesser extend, flying dreams where i have to concentrate to keep airborne or go higher. This concentration often results in waking me up. I guess it is worth mentioning that all my dreams are very hazy and even though I can fly in some I can never run, and my movement is slow.
Scarily I once woke up to find I was paralyzed and it took a few seconds for me to regain movement, which wasn’t present. For a long time I though it must have been some sort of very vivid dream, but then I heard on the radio that this can happen. Can’t remember the name for it.
Guess some of these experiences mean I have done some lucid dreaming! Anyway, I am going into my final year of uni and thought I would to look into my dream world before I have to concentrate on the real one! Any tips would be appreciated.
