Yet another personal experience on how to induce LD

      Hi,

This is the first time I have read about LD on the net (and so I consider myself a newbie ). After going through the site I realized that I have been LDing for a long time. Its gr8 to realize that other ppl are having the same experiences !!!

Anyway after going through the myriad tutorials on how to LD, my way is kinda different and for those interested here is how I do it -

This is a technique I realized by chance and I have been practising it for the last couple of years. It almost always works for me. Hope u guys (and gals) find it useful

(Warning!!! - The following can be not good for ur health in the long term but it works gr8 for me and I personally think its way better than all those drugs ppl ingest. Of course nothing can beat the natural (and the right way) of RC and LDing as discussed in the tutorial)

      1) I always do this when I can afford myself approx. 10 hrs to sleep

      2) Before the "big nite" get a little drunk (not too much just enough to get a buzz) do not drink any water before u go to sleep.

      3) It might be hard to sleep when u are thirsty but try anyway.

      4) As expected, you are going to wake up feeling damn thirsty and really tired (i.e. half-asleep/sleep deprived).

      5) Have as much water as you can.

      6) After this what I do is pretty much the same as the WILD technique (However it is a hell of a lot easier in this particular scenario. Somehow the tiredness and the partial hangover leave u in a somnolent state which catalyzes the WILD transition state)

      6) (Assuming u have read the WILD technique tutorial) The only pitfalls are not to panic when your body undergoes paralysis and not to go into a deep sleep (if its the later case then its probably b'coz u drunk more than you should have)

Hope this helps... Remember not to drink every night just for the heck of inducing LD. The right way is still the natural way (and that is what I am trying to master right now). For those of you who enjoy a drink now and then and want to get a flavor of LD, this is a useful technique.

npathak, hello and welcome to Dream Views!

As alot of our members are under age (and you know who you are ), this may not be a viable method for them but I appreciate your sharing it!

Again, welcome.. and I look forward to reading about some of your lucid dreams!

      Glad to hear that...

Well to tell u guys the truth...

My Grandma is bigtime into LDing and stuff . She can LD and OBE at will and for those who do not know one of the major advancements in Yoga is when you can LD and OBE at will. This is pretty much what all that meditation crap means when you hear about Eastern mysticism talking abt discovering urself, coz its ur concisousness that delivers all the messages (btw, I am am a Hindu and so is my Grandma...). Anyway I am not here to preach any religious crap. I am a CS scientist and I find all this stuff hard to believe but my grandma has been practising yoga for the last 5 decades and she claims to have achieved all the stages of yoga and is in a state of what she says is absolute nirvana. She claims that she can actually see cancerous tumors in other ppls bodies. I personally find this claim quite unbelievable but then she has correctly predicted tumors for like 3 people including my mom, which saved her life, so after that I am kinda confused and have developed a belief into OBE and LDing. So basically my Grandma introduced me and taught me how to LD... I still haven't gotten arnd to mastering the way how she does it... but According to her, in order to master OBE one first needs to master LD (which I am still struggling with... ).
For those interested I can talk more about the relation between Yoga and LDing and OBE, but suffice to say that LDing and OBE at will is arnd the fourth stage of Yoga (there are abt 5-6 stages I am not sure, its been a long time). The normal Yoga about improving the physical condition of the body that ppl normally practise is the advancement towards the second stage (i.e. physical perfection). The first stage is building morality (interstingly very much similar to freeing oneself of the seven deadly sins discussed in christianity)

Anyway my personal best LD experience has been (not flying!) but jumping around. When u LD try jumping about a few hundred metres high and a few blocks in length. Trust me the high that you get when you soar up and (especially) speed towards the ground is a highly rewarding experience.

Do try it guys you will definitely njoy it, trust me (Like I said, I find it to be way better than flying )

I have posted a similar thread on the Lucid Dreaming forum so it would be a good idea for ppl to post their thoughts on that thread.

falling! one of my first dream memories, or nightmares, especially when you dont realise you're dreaming and you can feel the wind rushing against you so powerfully that you cant move your limbs, and i dont know if this has been discussed on this forum, but that whole dying when you hit the ground thing, bullcrap, Ive hit the ground like 4 or 5 times now and not even woken up.
